Lively, laid-back eatery doling out traditional pizzas, pastas & salads, plus beer & wine.

One of my consistent faves in the city. Had a great night there this week. Everything was spot on and we had fun. The tiramisu was FANTASTIC and the best I’ve had in many years! I didn’t get a pic of our pizza or dessert but it was yummy. I love how they pre-split our salad, makes it so much nicer for both of us.

Loved trying a new place to us before our show at UNM. DELICIOUS lasagna with Italian sausage and so glad we shared the serving. As it was huge. And topped it off with the chocolate flourless cake. Highly recommend. Not m7ch seating, but we were there early, so found a table.

One of my all time places to have pizza. Enjoyed the outdoor sitting on a cool day overseeing Rt 66!
Pizza and salad were prepared perfectly! Nobody does wood oven pizza like Il Vicino!
Alex brought me food and drinks with professionalism and was attentive! I will be back for the consistency of food and service! Never had a bad meal!

Some of the best pasta in town! My meal may seem simple but the flavor is anything but. It was delicious! The service at this location is awesome. Every was friendly and provided great service. Definitely a good place for dinner.

We go to this restaurant at least every other week. We love it. Every single thing on the menu is delicious. Their chefs are excellent. The pizzas and salads are amazing. The staff well trained and friendly. The tables are clean, the bathroom is clean, even the windows are clean, and the set-up of the tables are easy to get to and well arranged. The wine carafes are an excellent value. They have a very cool points system, via your phone number, in which you earn a significant amount of money points to use whenever you like. I also appreciate the tip jar system at the register, as this is general service rather than ordering at the table. Very good value for your money. Park on the street, in the free parking garage, or in the back-alley lot.

I have noticed a decline in Il Vicino’s pizzas and customer service in recent years. We have been loyal customers for over a decade and are disappointed with their new policy that customers have to pay over the phone for carry out orders over a certain amount. I explained to both an employee and then to the MOD, that I was driving (hands free) and could not give a card over the phone and wanted to pay in cash upon arrival. I also explained that it would be helpful to keep CC info on file for situations like these. They refused to honor my over the phone carry out order, stating they could not make exceptions and that they could prepare my order when I arrived in Person. As far as inconsistency in quality, the last time I got pizzas there, they were all burnt and have noticed that the pizza sizes are also inconsistent! See pictures. Due to the declining quality and service I do not recommend them. I gave 2 stars because when their quality is on point, it is delicious. However, due to the price, quality control would be helpful. In addition, they have become more inconvenient to order from. They seem to have discontinued Grubhub orders, as well. I will not be ordering from them anytime soon.

Great pizza, but SOGGY on the bottom. Every time. Even if I ask for it “extra crispy” and I pick up a slice from my plate immediately after they bring it to my table, the crust has ZERO crunch, and it’s limp so it’s hard to eat. They really need to invest in some wire racks to place on the plate so the bottom side of the crust can breathe rather than getting soggy. The flavor of the pizza is so good, but frankly the experience of eating it and the mouthfeel leave much to be desired. Italians don’t serve soggy pizza! Please step up your game, Il Vicino.

The diverse menu always brings us back to this local favorite. I was able to customize my sauce on the pizza and was able to wash it all down with a local beer, on tap! The dessert was filling, not too sweet, and definitely was the cherry on top of a great visit to this Nob Hill staple!

This was my first visit to IL Vicino. I went to the Knob HIll location. I felt like having a salad so I decided on the ‘ IL VICINO’. I really was not expecting much, yet it was a very good salad! I enjoyed it very much and though it was a very nice meal for the price. Others in my party had pizza and lasagna that looked excellent and they stated that their food tasted great. I rarely get to the Downtown/Knob Hill area, yet this was a very nice restaurant with a lot of ‘energy.’ I appreciated their process of ordering at the counter, yet still having servers assist. The entire staff were very friendly and worked very hard at their jobs. I also liked to see people out and about in this area, eating both inside and outside. Parking is always an issue downtown, yet it was worth it and I look forward to returning.
