Il Toro E La Capra: Where Italian Romance Meets Mexican Heat

I’ve driven past many times over the years and decided to give this Italian and Mexican restaurant a try. It didn’t disappoint! The service is fast and attentive (constantly refilling water, soda and alcohol). The food was overall very good and a lot of it in every dish. Chicken Nachos, Calamari,
Shrimp Bruschetta, Carne Asada Tacos, Chicken Marsala were the hits tonight! The ambiance had a low noise level overall so you can easily talk w/o yelling…
First off, the service is great. My server Eduardo was fantastic — attentive, friendly, and always checking in at the right moments without being intrusive. Huge shoutout to Becky at the front as well — she was amazing, welcoming, and super helpful. Honestly, she deserves a raise.
The restaurant runs fast and efficient. The servers get to you as needed, and the food comes out very quickly. I honestly thought I would need a to-go box, but everything arrived so fast and fresh that it wasn’t even necessary.
They also have a buffet for around $18 all-you-can-eat starting around 11 AM, which is an incredible value for the quality and variety.
One cool detail: you actually go upstairs to eat, which makes it feel like a little trip within a trip — and the experience upstairs is just as amazing as the food.
Overall, great service, great staff, great value, and great atmosphere. I highly recommend El Toro y La Capra if you’re in Vegas.
This is a 1st time visit. I’ve noticed this restaurant over the last couple of years and thought it might be interesting to try. This review is strictly for the lunch buffet on a Wednesday. The place had a few people there when we arrived but got rather busy during our meal.
Atmosphere: 5⭐️ The restaurant looks great. A lot of time, effort and money went into the decor. And although we were there for a lunch buffet, I could see taking my loved one there for a nice dinner date.
Cleanliness: 4⭐️ Everything seemed rather clean. The tables were bused rather quickly and when people left they were also cleaned quickly. The buffet line was also kept very clean. I didn’t not use the restroom to see the cleanliness.
Service: 4⭐️ There seems to be quite a few people working there and everyone is constantly tending to tables bussing, cleaning and refilling drinks. Our waiter talked to us for a few minutes and was rather friendly.
Food Quality and taste: 4.5⭐️ Everything I ate was good and a few things were great. This place is supposed to be a fusion of Mexican and Italian. But the buffet line had either Mexican dishes or Italian. I’m not sure if the regular menu has fusion dishes. Since there were a lot of patrons, the food is constantly being replenished and never sitting out for very long, which is a plus for the quality. Pizza was rather good and not something you would get at a buffet. The self assembled tostadas were great. Chili verde was great. Marinara and Alfredo pastas were good as with the beef fajitas.
Price/value: 4⭐️ As of Sept2025, $18 before tax. And in this era of “no cheap places to eat in Vegas”, it is not bad for the quality and taste.
Summary: Overall my experience was very good. Will I come back? Yes. And I would hope that there are different items to try on another day.
Update: revisit on 13 October 2025.
The restaurant buffet was very busy. Whatever they are doing to bring customers in is working. Which means there’s a higher turnover of food and so the food is always fresh. There seems to be a few different items and although I wasn’t paying too much attention, the items on this day were more Mexican dishes than Italian. But everything was very good tasting. Self made tostadas are a favorite. The pizza is very good but my only complaint is that the pizzas is stacked on top of one another separated by a wax paper. The paper doesn’t keep from the toppings sticking all that well. I wish they were on a rack or something. I would like to see a little more dessert options La but the rice pudding is tasty.
Overall it’s very good.

Outstanding food, great family story, and warm hospitality!
Il Toro E La Capra truly exceeded our expectations. The rich family history behind this restaurant adds a special touch to the experience—it’s clear this place is built on passion and tradition. We started with the chips and salsa, which came with a unique Italian twist—served alongside a flavorful bread and oil mix that was absolutely delicious.
The traditional soup was just as satisfying as its counterpart at the original location, delivering on both taste and authenticity. For lunch, we ordered the tacos and chicken quesadillas, both of which were packed with flavor and generously portioned. Every bite was satisfying and fresh.
What really made the experience even more memorable was the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly, courteous, and genuinely welcoming. We felt like family from the moment we walked in.
We’ll definitely be back—and next time, we’re bringing friends! Highly recommend.
