I’ve driven past many times over the years and decided to give this Italian and Mexican restaurant a try. It didn’t disappoint! The service is fast and attentive (constantly refilling water, soda and alcohol). The food was overall very good and a lot of it in every dish. Chicken Nachos, Calamari,
Shrimp Bruschetta, Carne Asada Tacos, Chicken Marsala were the hits tonight! The ambiance had a low noise level overall so you can easily talk w/o yelling…

I had an amazing experience at El Toro y La Capra — the service, the food, and the overall vibe were all on point.

First off, the service is great. My server Eduardo was fantastic — attentive, friendly, and always checking in at the right moments without being intrusive. Huge shoutout to Becky at the front as well — she was amazing, welcoming, and super helpful. Honestly, she deserves a raise.

The restaurant runs fast and efficient. The servers get to you as needed, and the food comes out very quickly. I honestly thought I would need a to-go box, but everything arrived so fast and fresh that it wasn’t even necessary.

They also have a buffet for around $18 all-you-can-eat starting around 11 AM, which is an incredible value for the quality and variety.

One cool detail: you actually go upstairs to eat, which makes it feel like a little trip within a trip — and the experience upstairs is just as amazing as the food.

Overall, great service, great staff, great value, and great atmosphere. I highly recommend El Toro y La Capra if you’re in Vegas.

We are in Vegas and this hidden gem was worth the Lyft ride! We have tried many fusion restaurants, but never Italian Mexican. The service grounds this awesome spot, the staff are kind and attentive. We had the nachos with carne asada and tacos de pescado. The fideo made me feel at home!!

We tried the lunch buffet special. Served upstairs, it’s a combination of Italian and Mexican. No tacos or enchiladas, as we expected. Tostada shells were available, as were both corn and flour tortillas. Chips and salsa were served to our table, with the salsa being pretty darned spicy. Pizza, bread rolls, a couple of noodle dishes, some (what seemed like boiled) chicken wings and roasted vegetables were about the only Italian food I saw there. Chili colorado, green chile pork, ground beef with corn, refried beans, rice and more (see photos) represented the Mexican fare. Most of the stuff served was ok, nothing really stood out as excellent. The service was very good, being checked on and our drinks being refilled (even horchatas) on a regular basis. Sandia, melon and piña frescas are available at the buffet. Nicely decorated interior provides a fun atmosphere. The price is reasonable for what you get.

Actual Rating 4.3⭐️ (I cannot put my actual rating in google so I round up)

This is a 1st time visit. I’ve noticed this restaurant over the last couple of years and thought it might be interesting to try. This review is strictly for the lunch buffet on a Wednesday. The place had a few people there when we arrived but got rather busy during our meal.

Atmosphere: 5⭐️ The restaurant looks great. A lot of time, effort and money went into the decor. And although we were there for a lunch buffet, I could see taking my loved one there for a nice dinner date.

Cleanliness: 4⭐️ Everything seemed rather clean. The tables were bused rather quickly and when people left they were also cleaned quickly. The buffet line was also kept very clean. I didn’t not use the restroom to see the cleanliness.

Service: 4⭐️ There seems to be quite a few people working there and everyone is constantly tending to tables bussing, cleaning and refilling drinks. Our waiter talked to us for a few minutes and was rather friendly.

Food Quality and taste: 4.5⭐️ Everything I ate was good and a few things were great. This place is supposed to be a fusion of Mexican and Italian. But the buffet line had either Mexican dishes or Italian. I’m not sure if the regular menu has fusion dishes. Since there were a lot of patrons, the food is constantly being replenished and never sitting out for very long, which is a plus for the quality. Pizza was rather good and not something you would get at a buffet. The self assembled tostadas were great. Chili verde was great. Marinara and Alfredo pastas were good as with the beef fajitas.

Price/value: 4⭐️ As of Sept2025, $18 before tax. And in this era of “no cheap places to eat in Vegas”, it is not bad for the quality and taste.

Summary: Overall my experience was very good. Will I come back? Yes. And I would hope that there are different items to try on another day.

Update: revisit on 13 October 2025.
The restaurant buffet was very busy. Whatever they are doing to bring customers in is working. Which means there’s a higher turnover of food and so the food is always fresh. There seems to be a few different items and although I wasn’t paying too much attention, the items on this day were more Mexican dishes than Italian. But everything was very good tasting. Self made tostadas are a favorite. The pizza is very good but my only complaint is that the pizzas is stacked on top of one another separated by a wax paper. The paper doesn’t keep from the toppings sticking all that well. I wish they were on a rack or something. I would like to see a little more dessert options La but the rice pudding is tasty.
Overall it’s very good.

Such a gorgeous establishment with great quality food. We are vegetarian and the kind server was able to modify all the dishes to cater to our dietary restrictions. I recommend this restaurant, the Mexican Italian fusion was great and the live music really made it a worthwhile experience. ❤️❤️

Love it!! I heard a lot about this restaurant so we visited in our trip to Las Vegas, we are an Oregonian couple, it was delicious !!! We tried the buffet, it had lots of great options for mexican food, also pasta, salad, pizza, BBQ ribs and desserts, Aguas Frescas were so tasty and real fruit made, chile verde and chicharron en salsa were my favorite ones but everything was so tasty !! The owner was greeting people and making sure everything was running smoothly, It was a pleasure shaking hands with him, I can truly say that He’s a nice and humble person, our experience was great!! Can’t wait to visit Las Vegas and this great restaurant again. Thanks for a delicious meal and a wonderful time.

Fabulous hole in the wall resturant. The vibe was vintage and reminded me of my grandmothers restaurant. Food was fresh and quantity was large. Serving was ok. Overall left full and satisfied. Dinner for 2 was $75

Love the beans and chips. My friend order chicken parmesan which I thought was good but he thought it was too thin and portion size was small. The other dish was a combination plate. Tamale was good. Taco excellent. Burrito had shredded beef, I would have preferred ground beef. Super good happy hour martigritas!

Il Toro E La Capra:

Outstanding food, great family story, and warm hospitality!

Il Toro E La Capra truly exceeded our expectations. The rich family history behind this restaurant adds a special touch to the experience—it’s clear this place is built on passion and tradition. We started with the chips and salsa, which came with a unique Italian twist—served alongside a flavorful bread and oil mix that was absolutely delicious.

The traditional soup was just as satisfying as its counterpart at the original location, delivering on both taste and authenticity. For lunch, we ordered the tacos and chicken quesadillas, both of which were packed with flavor and generously portioned. Every bite was satisfying and fresh.

What really made the experience even more memorable was the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly, courteous, and genuinely welcoming. We felt like family from the moment we walked in.

We’ll definitely be back—and next time, we’re bringing friends! Highly recommend.
