Our dining experience at Padrino Pavas was nothing short of elegant and memorable. My spouse and I visited Costa Rica to celebrate our four-year anniversary, and after exploring several options, we decided on Italian cuisine. Based on reviews and menus, we came across Padrino Pavas, and we are so glad we did!
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a charming Italian ambiance and a warm smile from our waitress, Jessica. She made us feel welcome right away, guiding us through the menu with great knowledge and enthusiasm. The menu itself was beautifully presented, with photos of each dish, making it easy to choose.
Jessica’s recommendations were spot-on. She took the time to explain the dishes in detail and ensured we had a full understanding of flavors and pairings. We ordered the lasagna, spinach ravioli with Bolognese sauce, and a half Padrino, half Four Cheese pizza—Jessica highly recommended the Padrino pizza, and the fresh arugula on top was a delightful surprise!
To accompany our meal, we enjoyed a Nutella cappuccino and one of their newest cocktails, the Aperol Spritz—a strong yet perfectly balanced drink. For dessert, we indulged in tiramisu and croccante, a delicious combination of chocolate and vanilla ice cream with a hard chocolate shell. It was the perfect way to end our meal.
To make the night even more special, Jessica surprised us with two drinks on the house. While we don’t recall their names, one had a refreshing lemon flavor, and the other featured amaretto with a delightful cherry-like aroma—we ended up liking that one the most! It was such a beautiful and thoughtful gesture that made our anniversary dinner even more memorable.
Hands down, this was one of the best dining experiences we’ve had together. If you’re looking for exceptional Italian cuisine in Costa Rica, Padrino Pavas is a must-visit. We highly recommend it, and we especially appreciate Jessica for making our evening so special with her kindness and outstanding service!

Italian style restaurant. Everything was made to perfection. Each dish was Delicious . The fresh lemonade and the fresh melon juice were extremely tasty. Our server Jessica was friendly and detail oriented. When in San jose this is a must visit.

I will give their chef a 10+ attention to every plate. Prefectly created plates of art and flavors. We went here for our last night in Costa Rica. Amazing food. And great service. We ordered the bruschetta to start. It was fresh and refreshing to start our meal. Ordered spaghetti with a tomato sauce. It was delish. Also ordered a steak with a 4 cheese sauce. 10/10. Meat was cooked to perfect temperature and the sauce was mouth watering. Ended our outstanding meal with the tiramisu. Overall we would definitely come back. Jessica our server was very attentive and super sweet.

Deliciously mouth watering food and a very romantic ambience! We were pretty full already and so just ended up getting pastas which were pretty much the best we had in a long time. We wanted to go back but were short on time. The portions are huge, so make sure you take your appetite with you, to enjoy the fine dining experience.

I came with my handicapped mom to celebrate her birthday. The waiters immediately came out to the parking lot to help her get out of the car and into the restaurant and went out of their way to make sure she was comfortable.
We had Il Padrino and Hawaiian pizzas that were simply delicious. For dessert, they treated my mom with a tiramisu, the Italian birthday song, and a gift. We had a great time! ❤️
