Now, this place came highly recommended by two Italian colleagues of mine, so expectations were high from the start.

Before the doors even opened at 19:30, the queue outside was already long – some with reservations, others chancing their luck and hoping for a table. Pre-booking is absolutely essential.

They let everyone with a reservation in first and seated us all quite quickly and efficiently. Because of that initial rush, ordering was a little slow to begin with, but it was understandable given how busy they were.

The wine list was very comprehensive and impressively detailed. Chianti seemed to be the popular choice, but we opted for the Montepulciano instead.

It paired perfectly with the 1.6kg Florentine (raw) T-bone steak that I had, alongside my friend’s beef with mushrooms. The meat was absolutely divine – there’s nothing quite like it. It was so delicious that I devoured the steak all by myself. Although I was completely steaked out by the end, this is somewhere I would highly recommend and definitely return to.

Actually quite a large restaurant, plenty of seating available. We came here for the famous steak but I noticed many people were ordering other dishes. Service was quite slow but otherwise friendly and helpful. Steak was excellent, though bare in mind it’s only served rare. Worth coming for the experience!

What a lovely dinner at Il Latini.

Food
We had the roasted pigeon and beef filet for our 1st dinner in Florence. The roasted pigeon was seasoned well and flavourful. That said, I thought the pigeon may have been slightly overdone. The beef filet was divine and cooked to perfection. We loved it. We paired the 2 mains with grilled vegetables.
We also had the tomato and bread soup. The soup felt authentically tuscan. While the name of the dish appears simple, we felt warmth in our hearts as if we were eating a dish cooked by our grandmothers.
For dessert, we had tiramisu. Please try if you are there for a meal. Do not skip this dessert.
Service was excellent, attentive and efficient.

Reservations recommended, if possible.
We arrived at the restaurant about 15-20mins before dinner service started. There was already a queue. Restaurant is popular and quite busy.

Amazing food and excellent service. The prices are very reasonable for the quality.

The presunto and salami were outstanding, and I tried the eggplant, the sauce was absolutely delicious.

Definitely a place to visit and come back to.

We were in Italy for three weeks and dined out every single night. This was hands-down, our favorite meal.
The veal chop is sublime… Literally the best veal chop I have ever had in my life!
Make sure you come very hungry because the portions are huge!
Reservations are an absolute must.

We were recommended Il Latini by our walking tour guide and we absolutely loved it! The food, wine, service, and ambiance were all wonderful, with the Florentine steak the highlight and the best we’ve ever had. We were only in Florence three nights and came to Il Latini twice. Thank you for a memorable time – highly recommend!

Amazing place.
We didn’t make a reservation and had been waiting a bit before the opening. Once they opened and everyone with a reservation went in we only had to wait for a brief moment to be seated.
The staff was super friendly and helpful on translating or explaining the menu when they noticed us struggling a little, everyone was really nice and friendly. You can tell that the waiters enjoy working there too as there were some laughing and friendly banter moments.

The food was really good too and unfortunately they don’t take tips through credit cards, only in cash. So we’ll definitely be back one day as apparently their Tbone for two is a specialty and must have.

Highly recommend, reserve first to be sure of a spot!

Great experience!!!!
They open 7:30-10:30. Try to make a reservation. It was a weekday and we got sit fast.
I was with my wife and we order Family feast tip of dinner, it’s called “Menu Degustazione”.
8 different appetizers and Main Event- Steak.
You have an option of 60 euros Per Person for regular Steak; 70 euros Per Person for T-bone.
And also same appetizers and Florentine T-Bone Steak 130 per Person. It was our 25th anniversary and we choose Florentine ( not every day in Florence right?!).
They give you a Signed Certificate with all the info about that steak.
All the Steaks are RARE. Please don’t ask for anything else ! Amazing taste.
I’ll put a regular menu and dessert menu along with pictures of the food.
Wine list is huge. Red and white wine, 750 ml and 1 page of 375 ml.
Prices vary from 20 to 2000 euros.
Enjoy!!!
