I wanted to take my mom someplace special for Valentine’s Day because it’s just us. After searching I came upon this restaurant and after reading all the wonderful reviews I knew this was the place!! We were early for our reservation (didn’t know how long it would take to find parking) and we were warmly greeted at the door by Rose. She immediately said of course we could come in early and she went out of her way to make my mom, who uses a walker, feel right at home and to let her know if she needed anything. The food on their special VD dinner menu had great variety to choose from. My mom selected the Lobster Ravioli and I chose the Pollo alla Florentina. Both dishes were excellent & plentiful!! My dish had asparagus & mashed potatoes to complete it. BUT let me tell you about the Chocolate Mousse for dessert. O.M.G. It was divine!!!! Not to sweet not to bitter, just an overall smooth and incredibly rich chocolate flavor. We could not have been more pleased with our dinner & first experience there. Coralee was the perfect server/bartender, keeping the food & drinks flowing, especially as the restaurant was really starting to fill up by time we left. We will definitely go back!! Highly recommend.

We appreciate the hospitality here, it was very attentive the ambiance was beautiful and the wine pictured was delicious We had the special lamb ravioli which was delicious the sauce was perfect and lamb could’ve been a little more moist but flavor was . The best appetizer was the one we took home to eat later which was the homemade meatballs!! These were perfect, even had some the next day cold on their homemade bread with olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette we’d definitely dine again! Side note: we had the muscle and clam appetizer which could’ve had a better sauce and there was sand or something in it that actually chipped my tooth which gave it a four star instead of five… I wanted to give a three for that but the rest of everything was so freaking delicious.. I just couldn’t do it ☺️

We had a reservation for a table and it wasn’t ready for us, they gave us all wine glasses on the house
We waited on the bar until the table was ready.
Food: Real Italian food, My taste buds said thank you more than once in this restaurant.

Evidence this place is awesome can be found in the attached picture. Wife and I shared a dish of fusilli with pink sauce and we fought over the last noodle soaked in sauce 🙂 You got to try this place!

The saffron spinach ravioli was amazing! It was creamy and satisfying, something unique and a must try. Lasagna and handmade pastas are all incredible though. I thought the zucchini blossoms were way too battered, losing the delicate flower. Overall, a fabulous family dining experience!

The food was not good. Very plain. We got the calamari with marinara sauce. The sauce was very very plain and no seasoning to really taste. Also got the Alfredo, and reminded me of just a plain Alfredo sauce and not enough seasoning for that either! Would not go back.

Il Farro pulled off a miracle accommodating our huge group on a Saturday night without a reservation. They were very friendly and didn’t act like our huge group was a burden, and just gave us an accurate estimated wait time and managed to put together enough tables and chairs for us within that time. Honestly impressive. The kitchen paced out our meal pretty well given the size of our group, also.
They have a sizable wine list with good options, and a menu that will suit all tastes but isn’t so large so as to paralyze you with indecision. I had the farro milanese, which I really enjoyed. Portion was a good but not egregious size, and the flavor of the saffron sauce was beautiful. The creaminess combined with the bite of the perfectly cooked farro was wonderful, and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. Overall great dish. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their food as well.

Bad experience in our visit to il Farro Restaurant on Sept 13.
We were charged unlawfully with 20% as a tip, we were a party of 2. Their menu shows that they automatically charge 20% tip for a party of 5 or more. As well the waiter charged us with a more expensive wine.

What a great find near the Newport Pier. Bumped into this place last year when on vacation and made it one of our first restaurant stops this year. I had Lobster Ravioli and my wife had Lasagna – so good. What made the experience so enjoyable was not only the great food but our server Kaimana. What an interesting and fun guy to talk to and discovered he’s a surfing instructor too!
