Small restaurant sushi with Japanese chef. The food is great and the waitress is nice. We tried the chef’s selected assorted sushi and loved the quality. Reservation is recommended on the weekend. Easy parking in the front. Please notice that there’s a minimum charge per person ($15), and 18% gratuity is applied for groups of 6 and more.

We visited this Japanese restaurant and ordered the sushi and sashimi boat set for two. The presentation was beautiful, and the variety of seafood—salmon, tuna, shrimp, squid, mackerel, and octopus—was impressive. Everything tasted fresh and delicious, clearly prepared with care and good-quality ingredients.
The set also included two bowls of miso soup and a pair of salads. While the soups were warm and comforting, the salads felt more like a Western-style twist and didn’t quite reflect authentic Japanese flavors.
One small letdown was the sushi rice, which lacked the slight sweetness and balanced seasoning typically expected. Additionally, the soy sauce provided was on the salty side, which slightly overpowered the more delicate pieces.
The restaurant is spacious and decorated in a traditional Japanese style, creating a peaceful and pleasant dining atmosphere. It’s run by a Japanese chef and staffed with Japanese servers, which adds an extra layer of authenticity to the overall experience.
Overall, it was an enjoyable meal, and with a few small improvements, it could be a fantastic spot for sushi lovers.

Recently had dinner here for the first time and we will definitely be back. I had dragon roll and edamame, my husband had sunomono and a tray of assorted sushi. It was all very delicious and beautifully presented. The service was great, very friendly and attentive staff. A lovely little place for sure.

This Japanese’s restaurant has a good variety of sushi choices on their menu. I ordered sushi rolls , and other things from menu and everything was very tasty and fresh.
Pricing is fair ,not too expensive and waitress was very polite so I’ll definitely come back.
All recommendations for this place.

We legt beacuse they refused to serve us unless we spent $15 per person. That included my three year old. This policy shouldn’t even be legal. Hope this place gets shut down soon.

Really great quality fish and authentically Japanese. In my opinion the best sushi in New Westminster. I love their salmon donburri and Alaska roll. Staff is very friendly and I believe it’s run by a family from Osaka.

Small little place in a strip mall. Just went in for a quick meal. It doesn’t look like much, but the quality of the food was amazing. I was very pleasantly surprised. Way better quality then I expected going into the place. The nigiri was amazing!

They have a good variety of sushi choices on their menu but I found their sushi rice lacked the usual plumpness, sweetness, and vinegar flavor other places have. The sushi was not bad, but overall, quite average. For the price you pay, I have had nicer and tastier sushi at the same price or cheaper. It still does the job of satisfying a sushi craving though. Like a standard neighborhood sushi place.

Perhaps one of the best authentic Japanese meals we have had recently. You will find some unique and traditional Japanese dishes here that many Japanese restaurants will not carry nowadays: real tobiko, ikura, masago, anago, aji, etc. They were fresh and sweet. We ordered these in the form of temaki sushi. I couldn’t believe that how generous that they put the tobiko, ikura on top! It was a real deal for me. The wasabi is made of the real one, not the mimic horseradish. The staffs were really friendly.
I understand the frustration that some of the other reviewers expressed – e.g. minimum charge of $15 per person. When you have kiddos it seems unreasonable. However, for two of us, we easy ate over $80 there (ate too much, now groaning), the $15/p seems not a difficult thing.
My favourite: tori karaage (fried Juicy boneless chicken), Tobiko nigiri sushi (flying fish roes), masago nigiri sushi (smelt fish roes), aji butterly fries, dragon rolls.
