We had such a wonderful experience here! The food was absolutely delicious and the service was outstanding. The atmosphere of the restaurant was warm and welcoming, which made the whole evening even more enjoyable. The cocktails were fantastic as well.
Our server Kyle was amazing,he gave great recommendations and every dish he suggested was spot on. Everything we ordered turned out to be incredibly tasty. We will definitely be coming back!:)

Kyle was our server. He was attentive. The food was great. My favorite hits were IKI house salad and blossom gin cocktail.

Finally tried IKI and it did not disappoint. The space is absolutely beautiful — easily one of the nicest restaurant interiors in Bellingham. The atmosphere feels lively but still comfortable.
The food was excellent. Everything we ordered tasted fresh, well balanced, and clearly made with quality ingredients. The skewers were cooked perfectly and the drinks were fantastic. You can tell the kitchen really cares about what they’re putting out.
Portions felt fair for the quality, and while prices may be slightly higher than some other spots in town, it honestly feels worth it when you consider the food, the drinks, the service, and the overall experience.
Service was friendly and attentive, and the whole place had great energy.
Bellingham really needed a place like this. Great food, great drinks, beautiful atmosphere — definitely coming back

Wonderful first experience dinning at IKI! The tonkatsu curry was delicious and the brussels sprouts appetizer were a big hit at the table! The garlic butter prawn skewer was also tasty! Everything seemed very reasonably priced and portion sizes were spot on! Can’t wait to go back and try more!

I really, really wanted to love this place. We don’t have any other izakaya style restaurants in Bellingham, to my knowledge, other than Ramen and Bowl. We went in on Saturday, and their grand opening was Thursday. The atmosphere is gorgeous! They did a fantastic job with it. And it was packed with people too. The problem is, the food, at least from what we had, is so bland and overpriced for how much you get. We got pork belly and chicken skewers that were cooked well but had no flavor. Karaage chicken was also cooked well, but no flavor. We got the curry appetizer, which was decent, but it didn’t come with any rice, just bread to dip in it, which left us with a bunch of curry leftovers and no way to eat it. And I have to give fair warning to anyone. We ordered the tuna crisp — the presentation was awesome, however, it was some of the fishiest raw fish I have ever eaten. My girlfriend and I were slightly concerned we would get sick from it. Thankful to report that wasn’t the case. I understand this is a brand new place, and I hope their food improves. We would like to give it the benefit of the doubt and give it another try in the future. For now, I will continue to choose Ramen and Bowl’s late night menu over this place, as their flavors and prices are a lot more palatable.

Kyle was our server and he was great! We kind of surprised him, our 7 top turned into 12 top. It was very busy and the food took a while getting out, but he did a good job keeping up with us. He was going non stop. Food was amazing. Iki blossom cocktail was DELISH. 10/10

We arrived an hour after opening on Saturday and they were out of wagyu don. As another reviewer pointed out, the food was fine, not great. I would not order any of their raw selections as they were really bad. Some plates seemed to be missing ingredients listed on the menu, like chili crisp and such. Nothing left me wanting to go back for another bite.
The staff were great.

To start off the atmosphere lovely and the service was amazing. I got the iki blossom drink and it was so delicious, while my partner got the green ranger which was not the best, the matcha flavor wasn’t very strong and low quality tasting. For food we got mostly the skewers offered and they were just way too salty. They had salt that was sprinkled on them after they were cooking which was just too much, this was especially apparent on the chicken thigh (which was a little dry as well). The wagyu short rib was 50/50 some the pieces were tender and really delicious, but I had some chewy bits too. The stand out dish was for sure the Ika geso karaage, super crispy light breading and it was perfectly cooked. Overall it was ok experience and good vibe, but I was expecting it to be better for the price point it is at. I plan to come back after they have been open for a few months to see if anything has been improved 🙂
