“Sometimes I’m a Vegetarian” Sandwich (4.5/5): The pesto, sauce, and the mushrooms delivered great flavor! Just skip the avocado add-on; for $3.50, it was barely there and absolutely not worth the cost.
I really wish they offered even more non-vegan vegetarian choices; personally, I don’t like the fake cheese or meat. That said, I might come back to try one of their meat options next time.
I’m trying Veganuary (Vegan for 1month) and happen to be Gluten Sensitive, so it makes it hard to find options.
However this place has lots of vegetarian options which can be turned Vegan, and their Gluten Free bread is really good (Dutch Crunch like)
Their quality and amount is very good too.
I now have a new favorite place for subs.
The staff there are so knowledgeable and friendly to everyone who comes in, so a big thank you to Becker!!! He was very accommodating, funny, and friendly!
Parking can be tough as it’s in a tiny strip mall of a busy intersection, so it’s a tight squeeze. It’s before downtown, so there isn’t a lot of foot traffic – it’s not hood, but not downtown, so keep that in mind.
For a take out or delivery order, don’t pass up Ike’s!
I want to talk about feelings. That feeling of driving over the speed limit for the first time. Witnessing a baby seagull steal a piece of trash. Flipping the tongue of your shoe so it’s flat against your foot after walking with it all folded wrong for a bit. These all pale in comparison to the emotional ride you’re in for when the Matt Cain sandwich from Ike’s slams into your tongue. The highs. The lows. Actually there aren’t lows. It’s all highs. Just higher and higher highs.
Seriously. Get the Matt Cain.
Spiffy Tiffy – the mushrooms on top of this make the sandwich, and I love that they mix the pesto into the shredded chicken as opposed to just putting it on the bread of the sandwich. I don’t love having avocado on a hot sandwich though, or, I wish it was put on after the toasting part.
Skogee The Kaveman – the buffalo sauce on this is so addicting. Perfectly toasted, and I recommend the wheat roll.
It’s impossible to go wrong here. If you’re not starving, share one with a friend!
