We were late for lunch it being around 1:30 p.m., so we stopped at this sandwich shop to get a sandwich. I have my heart set on a pastrami sandwich since my son had just mentioned a pastrami sandwich.
After looking at the menu, I opted for a “Paul Reuben’s,” sandwich. LOL! I decided on a combo, with a drink and chips. (See the photo,) The store is small, with only a few tables and chairs, and one table outside the front door, plus 2 benches. The place is large enough for handicapped persons, but not extremely roomy. After ordering their was no place left to sit. Eventually, we did find a seat outside. The sandwiches were delicious; we took the chips home because we were full. I will definitely come back here, when I’m in town.

Got a bacon, avocado and turkey with cheese. The bread is really good and they have different options of course. I enjoyed the decor of the place with the classic lunchboxes on the wall. I’m talking the metal joints from back in the day!! So back to the sandwich, overall it was good. I would’ve returned to try others but short on time. The menu is hilarious with all the silly names for example Stiffler’s Mom, LOL! I also thought it was cute that you get a lollipop with your bag. Good sandwich shop overall!

Overpriced food sloppily thrown together. We wanted to try something new and we’re excited by the huge range of offerings. Ordered two sandwiches and two sides. My sandwich was missing tomatoes, bread wasn’t toasted and the amount of meat was skimpy compared to other sandwich chains. Partners sandwich was made hastily with most of the meat to one side. I watched as the sandwich maker finished the sandwich, wrapped it, then realized he forgot the lettuce, half unwrapped it to throw lettuce on and rewrapped it. Needless to say it was a mess. Paid almost ten dollars for two sides (see picture) that we’re smaller than a 99¢ fry. Bill was almost 35 dollars. Deeply dissapointed, will not be returning. Looking forward to that other sandwich shop opening soon.

I’ve been coming to Ike’s every week for years now, and every single time, my meals have been perfect. The staff is so friendly; at this point, I feel like family. The attention to detail, warm atmosphere, and genuine care from everyone here make each visit a delight. The consistency in quality and service is unmatched.
This is my go-to spot, where I can always count on a fantastic sandwich and a welcoming smile. Whether it’s a quick lunch or a special treat, I always leave with a full stomach and a happy heart. Thank you for making every visit a memorable one. Keep up the amazing work!

Okay if you like their sauce. Too saucy and salty for my taste and way too confusing to order. Combinations set and you need to read the details of each one. Bread choices are in a separate section and cost of adding a drink and Chips is nowhere in sight.

Walked into Ike’s thinking it was just gonna be a standard sandwich shop. I was helped by a worker named Chris! Super helpful guy! Also handsome too which is always a plus. Weird thing was as I saw him helping another customer in front of me that was being rude and downright mean. Chris kept looking up and saying “I’m new bro, I’m new to this and screaming as loud as he could ‘auuuugh’, he also kept telling the customer ‘you don’t deserve my mayo, you ain’t worthy of my mayo’” which I thought was the appropriate way of handling that situation at that time. As I walked up next in line Chris listened attentively as I explained what sandwich I wanted. As he was making my sandwich Chris and I struck up a conversation about my favorite hobby (and his too) Thugshaking! Chris I can tell is very intelligent and our conversation was just as intellectual as I thought it would be. If you need a good sandwich and good friendly conversations! Go to Ike’s! You won’t be disappointed

We travel places to go specifically to Ike’s because we’ve loved every single location we’ve been to. NOT THIS ONE. Rude employees that are not helpful whatsoever with their unfortunately super limited menu. If you wanna go to Ike’s, don’t go to this one. After getting no help or suggestions from the worker here, we actually left and didn’t even bother eating here. Go to Santa Cruz Ike’s for the best food, and super friendly and helpful staff.

We have always enjoyed the Salinas location since the opening. However, the last month we have noticed the customer service and quality of food has gone down hill. Today my husband went in and purchased two sandwiches. When we got home we noticed the sandwiches were made incorrectly. My husband took them back to the store after paying $35 for two sandwiches (we thought they should be made correctly). When he went in he was practically told he was wrong by staff members. They only made one sandwich and was told the other was made “correctly”. He returned home with one cold sandwich and avocado peels in the other. Due to the poor customer service we will no longer be returning.

I really liked my sandwich but my wife said she barely had any meat on her sandwich. There are only two tables in this small establishment and four chairs total. There are four four bar stool high table setups. Our daughter uses a walker and a wheelchair and can’t sit in one of the tall bar stool chairs. If the other family hadn’t left there would have been no place to sit.
The music was turned up really loud so they could be heard over the extremely obnoxious blower in the sandwich oven. When I asked to turn down the music, the employee said the manager won’t let them touch it. But, she did turn off the blower on the oven for a while. It was extremely loud and there are no tables outside where it was very peaceful.
