Long-standing chain serving a wide variety of pancakes & other American breakfast & diner fare.

Diner fair with mostly pancakes. What makes this one is the employees. This place is packed and I had low expectations but was pleasantly surprised. My coffee was hot and fast and she remembered creamer! Got a sandwich and it is better than the picture. Exactly what I needed.

¡Qué bueno! We pulled in after running errands all day, hungry for some breakfast for dinner vibes, and this spot was perfect no long wait, easy parking off the freeway. Ted was our server and he was really good. Friendly from the jump, hooked us up with drinks right away and kept refilling without us askingkey for me, I go through cups fast, took our order quick, and everything.
I went with the fruity pancakes (strawberries and bananas on top delicioso!) plus some eggs and bacon. My familia shared the hash browns too crispy just right. The place was chill at that hour, not too crowded, so we could relax and chat. Ted was super nice, even threw in a little Spanish when he heard us, and before we bounced, he asked if we’d leave a review because it helps the team a lot. So here you go, Ted, tú lo mereces, carnal! Great service makes the difference, especially on a weeknight.
We’ll hit it up again next time we’re cruising through Mount Vernon. Gracias, Ted y al equipo! ☕

My server Randi was simply perfect; conscientious, professional, and on top of her game despite a huge surge in customers. It’s always great to see people with clear attention to detail, handle stressful atmospheres so well. And she made it look effortless. Well done.

Destiny S was doing a great job while she was by herself, getting food out in a quick manner all while being super friendly, always checking on me to make sure I had what I needed, after finding a hair in my eggs she was very quick to have it remade. Thank you for a great evening experience at IHOP Mt Vernon.

Last night, Ted was our waiter and he absolutely crushed it! The place was packed and he was handling everything solo, but he hustled non-stop with a genuine smile the whole time. He got us everything we needed quickly—refills, extra sides, you name it—and made the busy night feel effortless and enjoyable. Great service like that really stands out. Thanks, Ted—you made our meal awesome!

I came in this morning with my family and I had great service, from a new server I’m pretty sure his name was Ted. The food came out quick and was pretty good. I had mixed up what I wanted for my son but the server fixed it no problem. It seems like they have turned it around, because my previous visit there wasn’t nearly as good. Maybe new management I’m not sure.

Evelyn and I stopped by IHOP the other morning for our usual pancakes and coffee. Place was busy but still nice and quiet enough for us old folks.
Our waiter was a polite young fella named Ted. He kept the coffee hot and coming without us having to ask, got my wife’s eggs over-medium just so (not runny like some places do), and brought extra butter and syrup right off without a word. He let us sit and talk slow, didn’t rush us at all.
Food was hot and tasty enough, nothing to gripe about. Ted was patient and kind—the way people used to be. Made the whole visit feel special.
We’ll be back because of him.

Food was great, as always, at every ihop I have ever been to. Honestly this would’ve been 4 stars, but the greeters pretended we didn’t exist, even as my dad almost fell in the lobby. However the day was saved thanks to the wait staff and the food. Once you get past the greeters who clearly don’t like working there, it’s a good experience.

If I could give my review a negative score I would. I know IHOP isn’t fine dining, but I at the bare minimum expect to be given a decent meal and decent service for a fair price. My wife and I waited 40 minutes for our food, blueberry pancakes and a biscuits and gravy combo. The restaurant wasn’t empty-but also wasn’t packed. And I would understand if it’s super busy if food is slow, but it didn’t appear to be hectic at all, they were genuinely just slow to get us anything. Now slow service isn’t that bad, but it’s awful when you have to wait forever to then get bad food-not mediocre, but bad. My wife’s gravy did not taste like anything, i tasted it when she said it tasted like nothing, and it was like flavorless gruel. Even packet gravy has a taste to it-did they 3D print out fat and throw food coloring into it? My pancakes were fine until I got about halfway through my stack and started to feel ill. I can eat a lot of food, and I can certainly eat a ton of junk food full of red40 and corn syrup, so when I say that it made me sick to keep eating; that means something. Our waitress seemed like a normal lady, so I’m not blaming her. I am blaming the establishment as a whole because it’s probably a staffing/ingredients problem. I know it’s not a 3 star restaurant but at least try to make decent food. Most IHOPs are independently owned, so the blame isn’t because of company policy-just poor management and cooking skills. I’m sure that this business is going to leave some review pushing back on me for what I’ve said-but I genuinely just had a bad time and wish I could have gotten my money back. Because me and my wife wouldn’t have had to waste an hour and 35 bucks, and could have just gone to Mr. T’s instead.

They had a special get a stack of pancakes free, of course they were busy but didn’t have the staff to cover the extra patrons, I got a breakfast that came with pancakes never got them & they never came to refill waters, after half an hour I finally had to go to the front & complain that I never received my pancakes, not the servers fault, cant have 2 servers on when the have a table of 12 teen age boys & another table with another 8 teens all getting free pancakes DO BETTER WITH YOU STAFFING IHOP
