We had such a wonderful breakfast experience here! The atmosphere is warm and genuinely family-friendly—perfect for a relaxed meal with kids or grandparents. The staff greeted us right away with big smiles and made us feel right at home.
Portion sizes are generous, the food was delicious and hot, and the variety on the menu is impressive—something for everyone, from classic pancakes to hearty omelets and lighter options. We especially loved the great deals they offer for seniors; it’s so nice to see that thoughtful touch.
The prices are very reasonable overall—great value for the quality and quantity you get. And I have to give a special shout-out to the bathrooms: they were spotlessly clean, hands-down some of the cleanest I’ve ever seen in a restaurant. That level of care really stands out.
We’re already looking forward to our next visit.

I like this IHOP. The food was fresh and well made, the staff was friendly and interested in doing a good job of serving the customer. I would say that the prices were good by current standards… I ordered a $5 special and they didn’t seem to mind serving it. Overall, very good!

Been to a lot of IHOP locations in the KCMO area and let’s just say my wife and I quit going to IHOP for a long time. Never been to this location before so decided to try it out. Service, food and welcoming atmosphere was amazing. Restaurant was clean too! I like IHOP food and finally I found a location I’d like to return to ❤️

Mango tea, mango lemonade, and the blue Raspberry lemonade sprite mix were delicious. They were also very accommodating to my allergy to strawberries and kept them out of the drinks. Also ate the appetizer sampler platter. Good for even just 2, not super hungry people. The staff was very warm and inviting as well as kind and generous. We did go at a weird time, so there was barely anyone there, which is funny for 6:30 pm on a Saturday. Overall, I can’t wait to come back

We visited this location hoping for a great experience after visiting multiple other IHOPs in the past. I can say walking away. This was equally just as bad. If not a worse experience than we generally have. The staff was very rude. The food is just still and old and just needs a revamp. It also doesn’t help that there was a not infestation. Overall will not be returning.

Originally given a 1 start review, after a brief email thread between the fantastic owner and I, my husband and I returned for a second chance. This time around, it was significantly better! How funny, we were sat in the same seat as the first time haha!
Our waitress, bless her heart, was absolutely AMAZING and attentive — not just to our table, but to her other tables. It was a Saturday, so it was expected to wait a few minutes, but they were fantastic with us and other tables.
My husband’s meal had a major complication to it, but Harry stepped out of the back and personally apologized for what happened! No biggie, it happens! His meal was then remade and came out again in a reasonable time!
At the end of the meal, both my husband and I were satisfied with our second chance. Chatting with his staff was fantastic and we left much happier than our initial visit.

Came to this location at 10:30 am. The wait to be seated wasn’t too long since multiple elderly were paying. My only concerns: it took 35 MINUTES to get our breakfast. We got Janessa (per the receipt) and shame we didn’t get another more attentive server. Not a single check in/update (as to why it was taking half an hour) until my husband finally asked a waitress (not in our area) about the wait. Heard her shout, “Is this Table 40’s?!” in the back and our actual waitress finally brought the food out five minutes later. Only I received my food, my husband waited STILL for his breakfast burrito which was placed at this point 40 MINUTES ago. My dish was semi cold, and once she brought out our breakfast, did not ask or allow the time for us to ask for other sauce options. So we waited again for a few minutes until my husband flagged her down again to ask for steak sauce and the salsa that was supposed to come with the burrito but did not because it wasn’t checked before being run out??
I am actually disappointed with the service and the food. The quality here does not seem to par with its sister locations around the KC area. Please, avoid this IHop until they have their ducks in a row. I highly recommend the Legends location. Much better service and food.

Food was delicious! Hot and speedy out of the kitchen. Our waitress was good and we left her a tip. The other waitress was complaining about people not leaving tips to other guest and that was bad taste. That is frustrating and often not fair but talking to other paying guest about that is unprofessional.

Walking in we were greeted by friendly staff and the smell of sewage. No waiting for a table. Kind of a cramped space and parking was the same. The food was inedible, no, not incredible, INEDIBLE. Nothing like I remember IHOP omelets and pancakes tasting like. Our food came out at different times as well, so two of us were finished eating before the other even got their food. One good thing, the staff were great, nice and friendly, cooks stopping by the table like in a fine dining establishment. $80 for 3 people. Outrageous. I would not eat at this location again. In fact, go down the street to First Watch for some great breakfast.

Weekend night service here is really poor. Employees were disorganized and inattentive, and it felt like customer service wasn’t a priority. The Shawnee IHOP sets a much better example—friendly, efficient, and actually happy to help. You won’t get help for Online orders. You will be just ignored.
