We found this place randomly when we were scrolling around little Italy. There were plenty of wine choice and the owner knows a lot about wine and wine pairing. The environment feels very cozy. The seed were big and spacious. Although it’s full of guest, me and my friends still had a nice time talking and eating. The pastas were great. Very special noodle and I think it’s house made. I would definitely recommend to get the bucatini and I will return to try something else

we had a reservation at 8pm and there was no one at the receptionist, and the hallway to wait was really crammed. we waited till 8:45pm (there were two waiters coming to get us but they simply acknowledged that we had reservations without attempts to get us seated.) at the end we just left the restaurant because even if we were to get a table, it is unlikely for our food to come before 9:30.
advice for the restaurant: if you don’t have the capacity to serve that many people, do not open reservations.

First time here and it was satisfying. Staff were attentive and friendly. The pasta was delicious, however the beef could’ve been better cooked. Wasn’t a fan of the dessert but would definitely go back and try other items off the menu.

I really enjoyed my gluten free spaghetti. It was cooked to perfection, unlike many places where they overcook it and only offer gf penne or rotini. The server made an excellent wine recommendation. My friends also enjoyed their gluten filled meals.

Absolutely LOVED it. So Italian. The vibe is great, the staff are perfectly attentive but give you space, and the food is so delicious. I’ll be craving this until my next visit

What a beautiful treasure Ideale is, right in the heart of North Beach. Maurizio, the chef and owner, is from Rome and he is a most gracious host—and cyclist. He serves the most wonderful homemade pastas and sauces, pizzas, freshly baked bread, gorgeous salads, daily fish specials and delectable desserts. Gluten-free pastas are also available and they will custom make any of their entrees to suit anyone’s dietary or eating preferences. The food is so tasty and comforting and the two dining rooms are cozy and nicely decorated. There are two nearby parking garages on Stockton Street if street parking is unavailable. We really enjoyed the Insalata Primavera, the gnocchi with pork ragu sauce, a vegetarian version of the fettuccine with porcini mushrooms and the daily fish special which was a fresh sea bass today. Highly recommend!

We made reservations but unfortunately there was a large party that must have placed their food order ahead of us. Our food took an extremely long time; 4 of the 5 entrees came out and the 5th basically had to be cooked (the waiter/owner at least was forthcoming with that info)- did give a glass of wine to compensate. I asked about a small side salad to go with my entree, waiter suggested arugula and tomato with cheese- perfect… until the bill showed up and it was $18 for the small salad. Sentiments of the table was food was good but not exceptional, Tiramisu was exceptional! Overall felt over priced, service wasn’t great (had to ask for more wine, water just set on table, bread wasn’t refreshed).

We really enjoyed the food here. We had the fish of the day, carbonara, and roasted vegetables, and they were all well cooked with simple and delicious ingredients.
