The Rib & Chop House was founded in 2001. Since our humble beginnings, we’ve opened 11 Rib & Chop House restaurants across the US flourishing in Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Idaho and Utah, with a Nebraska location coming soon. Our ability to grow and achieve success has come through our commitment to “Rocky Mountain Hospitality.” This concept incorporates a casual attitude with our high-level commitment to loyalty, safety, service, and quality food. On the positives, the steak was delicious, the staff was friendly, and I couldn’t have too much of that bison chili. However the baked potato needed more toppings to match the massive spud, and I waited something like 10 minutes with an empty drink at the bar top for anyone to ask if I’d like another. It was not busy. I think you’ll get a quality meal here, it could be exceptional with a little more attention to detail.

We went to Rib & Chop for dinner and left pretty underwhelmed, especially for the price.
We ordered old fashioneds, spinach artichoke dip, ribs, and a steak. The bill came out to about $92 for two people, which sets a fairly high expectation. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to it.
The ribs were dry, very dark, lacked flavor, and were much tougher than expected. The mac & cheese that came with them was actually very good—but that ended up being the highlight of the dish, which isn’t what you want from a steakhouse. My wife’s steak was decent—good quality and cooked fine—but not memorable or impressive for the cost.
The one standout was our waitress. Her customer service was excellent—attentive without being pushy, professional, and friendly. If I could’ve shifted more of the bill toward her tip and less toward the food, I gladly would have.
Overall, this felt more like a $50-for-two restaurant, not a nearly $100 experience. For that reason, I won’t be returning.

Great place to eat and then walk to view the falls and surrounding areas. Diverse menu with some good looking steaks being served to many people around us. We had the shrimp scampi and loved it. It was buttery with a light garlic taste, perfectly cooked also. We chose a fresh salad from the list of sides that are included with your meal. The reason for four stars on service was our meal came out after only three bites of our salad. We were able to be seated immediately in the bar area. Plenty of parking in the surrounding area.

Wow, my steak was absolutely delicious. Right when we entered, the staff was welcoming, and our server was fantastic. The atmosphere makes it feel like a nice high-end experience. I got the baseball cut top sirloin and I loved the seasoning on the outside of the steak. It tasted really good. I got a baked potato for a side, which was really good, but I think next time I’ll try the au gratin potatoes or something else. The salad seemed average, but that’s OK. They asked if we were celebrating anything special, which I said we were and then they never did anything so I’m not sure why they asked. I would absolutely love to come back here the next time I’m in town.

I took my husband here for his birthday and it was a perfectly lovely experience. He ordered the turf and turf while I ordered the 7oz sirloin and everything was simply delicious! In comparison to a large chain like Texas road house, there isn’t one. While I did miss my free bread our meals still came with two good sides. (Try the garlic mashed potatoes 10/10 worth it) although the quality of the stake wasn’t better than what I would have received anywhere else it was seasoned and cooked to almost perfection. My husband said his stake was a little tough but they brought him out free cake for his birthday so you win some you lose some. I would definitely recommend celebrating your birthday here! No embarrassing loud singing, just a delicious lava cake (possibly the best I’ve ever had) and a sincere card from the staff.

We ate here following a wedding with a large group and it seemed a little disorganized with the serving and food prep as it took nearly 2 hours to get our food after arriving! However it was delicious once it arrived and the ribeye was delicious, perfectly cooked, tender and amazing flavor, the ribs were the most tender and falling off the bone I’ve had, the carrot pillafe was like a sweet but not too sweet unique and tasty recommendation. The desserts were large portions and I highly recommend the Carrot cake. It can be expensive most entrees 25-60+

I made reservations for us and our two friends couples, for Valentine’s Day dinner, a month in advance. We had not come to this restaurant ever before. We were seated in a very uncomfortable metal mesh type garden chair, no pad and nothing comfortable for a dinner meal also right by another door as well that kept being opened and closed going outside. I had requested, on my online reservation, being in the dining room and we were seated in the bar area. When I questioned the man at the front door next to the hostesses he said he was so booked up all night long and there was no chance of sitting anywhere else! Our dinner was mediocre for the price that we paid. Our waitress never returned with the sauce we asked for our calamari appetizer and when we received our dinners no one checked on our meat or plates until we were almost finished, to find out that it was cooked improperly. Medium rare should be nice and juicy and pink not just pink and dry. We were Beyond disappointed for a Valentine’s expensive dinner together. We will not be back and you should save your money and go to a nice restaurant somewhere else!

We were unsure about here as my wife and I got gift cards for here and had never been I had heard it’s expensive for what it is. However, Shout out to Chad. He was an amazing server. Super kind and understanding made sure we felt comfortable with our kiddo there. Was super attentive as well! The food was amazing as well, and definitely worth the price.

It was my first time in Idaho Falls. The gf and I wanted a steak so we stumbled across this restaurant. I had a baseball steak and she had the Bison steak. The food was pretty dang good! But our waiter, his name is Kyle. What a nice guy!! Honestly the best service I’ve had in a resturant in a very long time. I hope he is treated well there because it would be a big bummer to lose him. I don’t know Kyle but if he reads this, thank you for your kindness, great customer service and patients with me as I wasn’t sure what I wanted and helping me decide lol.
