My son and I came here for dinner on a weekday and were greeted and sat without any wait. I ordered the Pokémon roll which was VERY tasty and I highly recommend it. My son is 8 years old and still a picky eater so I asked if he could just get a simple bowl of just noodles in broth, with nothing else in it. He enjoyed it, but I wish there were a kids option for this as it was still rung up at the $15 price point. Other than that, I have no complaints and will definitely return.

AWFUL SERVICE but decent food.

We had a reservation for 3 at 6:30 and weren’t seated until almost an hour later for hibachi. We waited in line to check in as others did as well. After that they didn’t even give us glassware or spoons because they were out. My parents ordered drinks from the bar, waited 20 minutes, and had to remind the waitress about their drinks because she forgot.

Our cook was very nice though. He did great with the performance aspect of hibachi as well as the actual cooking. The food tasted great though and was there in a timely manner minus the soup. The soup came 15 minutes later and was cold. After it arrived we had to wait longer for the dishwasher to clean the spoons. The main entrees were great though.

Towards the end, we never saw our waitress again and the people at our tables had to physically get up and walk to the front of the restaurant to ask for to-go boxes. When my mom asked for a glass cup to replace her styrofoam one because the dishwasher finished, the waitress gave my mom a dirty look and took forever to get her water. Though hibachi tables are large-group, my mom, stepfather and I were a simple party of three and were added an 18% gratuity because she thought we were a party of 9 rather than separate parties of 6-3. When asked to remove said gratuity she was extremely difficult but then agreed to make our drinks complimentary but was unable to remove the gratuity despite the fact she was a ghost and barely there to serve our table.

Overall, absolutely terrible service will probably never come back but the food saved it enough that this review isn’t one star.

I went in last night and sat at the bar and it was the nicest bar staff I have ever worked with. I think one of the kids names was Jackson and I missed the other two but they were wonderful. So attentive not only to myself but everyone around and it was a super busy atmosphere. The food was also wonderful. Took a minute to get out to be because it was so busy but it was very good once received!

We visited for a family birthday and the experience was a letdown from start to finish. While the Chef was great once he arrived, the service leading up to that was a mess. The server was disorganized and significantly delayed the entire flow of the dinner, making the process feel clunky rather than seamless.
More concerning were the safety and hygiene issues:

Safety Hazard: My chair was broken—the seat cushion was completely detached and fell off the frame when I moved.

Sanitation: The AC was leaking dirty water directly onto us and my wife’s bag. Staff dismissively told us “it’s just water.”

Maintenance: The women’s restroom was completely out of toilet paper.

I emailed management privately and they actually asked for my receipt to “look into it,” but then completely ghosted me.

I’ve followed up for over a month with no response. Since private outreach is ignored, I am filing a formal report with the Forsyth County Health Department regarding the AC leak and sanitation.

Avoid this place until they learn to maintain their facility and value their customers.

Called and asked if we needed reservations for Hibachi table sitting. We were told we did not. When we arrived we were told that without a reservation, we would have to wait 1.5hrs for a Hibachi seat. This is due to poor training of employees.

We waited about 5 min for a table and was immediately greeted by our server. Orders were placed and our food came out without the soup and salad coming out first. When we asked about it, the server left and then a second person came out with salads. We never received our soup. The Salad was wilted and floating on the watery ginger dressing. Gross!

My meal was decent. Our friend’s steak was ordered medium rare but served Bleu.

Not a good first impression. We will not be back and will find a better Hibachi restaurant elsewhere.

This was my first time ever eating at a Japanese restaurant. The going lady at the entrance was very polite and patient as she pointed out some of the popular dishes on the menu. The young lady’s name was Maria she also ended up being my server. The food was outstanding and the service to notch. I also got to meet the owner Mr. Jonathan who was really down to earth and friendly. I plan on bringing my service family to dine here. A very clean restaurant with plenty of tables.

Sushi was excellent. Did not care for the teriyaki chicken, was cooked fine but too saucy. The steak was good quality but overcooked. The service was polite but unfortunately slow, I believe they were short staffed.

Disappointed. I am not sure if they are understaffed or poorly trained. Went to dinner with my wife tonight and saw they had a new bacon fried rice. Figured hey let me try that. Big mistake. DO NOT waste your extra $2 it isn’t worth it which tells you how disappointing it was. But first. I order my rice and the hibachi chef starts cooking fried rice. I assumed wrongly that my bacon fried rice would be cooked on the hibachi. As he is cooking the rice our waitress comes and hands everyone who ordered steamed rice their steamed rice. She is short a bowl and I tell her I order the bacon fried rice. She leaves. The the hibachi chef finishes the fried rice and dishes it to everyone but me. So everyone is eating there rice but me. He then goes around and confirms everyone’s order and I told him I had bacon fried rice he said it is in the back. He cooks the main entre and starts serving it and still no rice. I think he could tell I was a little annoyed because he eventually flagged down a different waitresses and tells her I need my fried rice. 4 or 5 minutes later my bacon fried rice showed up. What a joke. It appeared to be not fresh fried rice, Luke warm, in a bowl with a pile of overcooked burnt bacon bits on top. The rice didn’t have a bacon flavor. It wasn’t fresh from the hibachi. Honestly the burnt bacon just took away from the rice. Don’t waste your time. OK fine I have my food now. I am eating and run out of water. Never saw the waitress until it comes time to pay. Even then she didn’t say let me get you more water. I had to ask for more water. I think in grand total from the time we sat down until we paid we probably saw her for 4 minutes and most of that was taking our orders. So I debate in my head how much to tip. The hibachi chef did an ok job and the food minus my fried rice was fine and then the couple next to me points out that they automatically added a 18% gratuity. So it doesn’t matter the service they just add it in. The couple next to me questioned it and we’re told we’ll since there were 8 people at the grill we added the 18% nevermind it was 1 party of 4 and 2 parties of two. I just paid and left Disappointed.

Great place to enjoy some delicious hibachi style food and watch the cook put on a fun show. Had the filet mignon, shrimp and scallops. All were cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. Will definitely visit here again.

Mid-week soosh date night at Ichiban was just what we needed to get us over the tax season hump! We almost always can walk up and find seating at the sushi bar. KC and the rest of the sushi chefs are top notch; creating tasty rolls with the freshest ingredients. We have experienced times when the restaurant has been short staffed (aka slow bar service) – but honestly what restaurant isn’t these days? This location also often hosts events to pair wine or whiskey with various dishes which are always a good time. So weather you are looking for a cozy date night or a place to meet up with friends that consistently delivers a 5 ⭐️ rating with their food – Ichiban comes highly rated.
