Absolutely incredible experience at I Love Sushi on Lake Bellevue – honestly one of the best value sushi experiences in the entire country, maybe even THE best. This place has been a Bellevue institution since 1986, and under head chef Shuhei Shimazu, they’re still doing things the traditional way with fish flown in direct from Japan. The quality here is insane for the price – we’re talking pristine chutoro, kamatoro, tairagai, stuff you’d expect to pay double or triple for at other spots. That seared engawa alone was worth the trip, and the ama ebi with the fried head was perfection. Chef Shimazu and his team clearly put their hearts into every piece, and you can taste the decades of experience and dedication that’s made this place a legend. If you’re serious about sushi, this is a must visit.

I found this sushi restaurant based on its reviews and I can attest that it’s really worth the rating. The food was great and the staff were friendly. Highly recommended.

I have a good experience here for dining dinner. Normally I always order the Salmon don from them for lunch. Price is a little bit high but since It’s Japanese food so is normal right lol love everything here, good service but only one thing I don’t like is the water front area. It should be perfect if it’s clean and don’t smell bad.

Good but nothing crazy. Some of the rolls came out way too big. They also snuck carrots into one of the rolls which was rly odd

We have been wanting to come here for a while but catching them open was tough for our schedules cause they are closed 2-5 which is the daycare-open time we prefer to go at
My husband had made a reservation for 12 on the patio. We arrived a bit late and had to wait for someone to come to the line of people to seat us. Once they saw our reservation, the host confirmed that he sees it’s for patio seating and said that means we’ll have to wait for it to be set up. I had assumed that a table would already be set up by 12 (they open before 12) especially since we were a bit late.
The patio was a lot less stuffy than the inside but the furniture was not what I expected. The plastic chairs were a far cry from indoor seating and not what the Google maps image has. So they used to have it better. This is why 4 starts.
The rest was wonderful. Great helpful and attentive server who was happy to answer our questions and give us recommendations. The food was delicious and I’ll assume just as it would be in Japan

We loved the entire experience! We received a warm welcome with lots of smiles. The quality and taste of our sushi rolls were absolutely incredible. The environment is very peaceful and our waiter was very kind and respectful. I’d give it a 6 ⭐ if I could

The portions are generous. I ordered the dinner plate, which came with four large pieces of perfectly grilled mackerel, warm miso soup, a fresh salad, and a bowl of rice. The udon noodle soup was also delicious—the broth was clean and full of flavor. The service was great, and the price is well worth the quality and portion size.

I was disappointed with my recent pickup experience. When I arrived, there was no one at the front desk. I had been told by the waitress, Kayla, that the order would be ready within 10min, but it ended up taking more than twice as long. The long wait and lack of communication made the experience frustrating. I hope the restaurant improves its front-desk staffing and timing for pickup orders.

Hidden gem with a serene view, sushi bar, and covered patio serving authentic Japanese cuisine. Fish tasted fresh and there is huge variety on the menu. We got the rainbow roll, paradise roll, and seared spicy salmon roll, which were all delicious. Will definitely be back!
