Great coffee spot for working. All tables on one side of the shop have outlets and Wifi is strong. There’s a gender neutral bathroom available to customers, and the latte art is always perfection. Love the unique offerings like the Cascara tea too. Great dairy free milk options and lots of free parking available in the back. Well lit with lots of windows. Wouldn’t recommend for bigger groups though – most tables only seat 2.

I’ve been a few times but this week I might’ve had the best mocha I’ve ever had. The beans have been fantastic lately too. Love hanging out there with and without my toddler, especially in the warmer months.

Good coffee and home made treats. Laid back atmosphere in a cute part of town.

I buy 1 bag of locally roasted whole bean coffee every weekend from roasters in downtown Farmington, Plymouth, Flat Rock, Northville, or Dearborn. In 2025 it costs 13 – 22 dollars for a 12oz bag, depending on origin and the roasters location. This weekend I wanted to try something new and found Hyperion on google. I grabbed a bag of single origin beans from Costa Rica. This little bag of beans with tax and 15% tip cost 37.00 dollars! This is why they do not put a price tag on their bags of beans, 30.00 is almost double the price of the single origin Costa Rican beans I bought last weekend from a Downtown Farmington roaster who surely has more overhead maintaining their shop in the heart of downtown Farmington than this shop does in the outskirts of Ypsilanti. I really hope I am missing something about this place and/or these beans. If half of all the proceeds were given back to their community I might not of felt so gross walking out of this place, but coffee lovers should know they have better options in flat rock, Farmington and Dearborn.

This is one of the local coffee places I always recommend to out of town guests. The coffee and specialty beverages are consistently good quality. We purchase their locally roasted beans a lot to brew our own great coffee at home. With the purchase of a bag of beans Hyperion gives a token for a free cup of coffee in the cafe.

As an out-ot-towner:
This place is excellent! They seem to have something for everyone, a balance of crazy and cozy coffee options. I was browsing their roasts before ordering and noticed the Ethiopian LAAYYOO was on drip.
OH MY WORD! Best drip I’ve ever had. Only 2.50, as well.
We tried Vertex while in town, which was pretty good, but they wanted 4.00 for a cup of drip that was just okay.

Hyperion is my favorite place to get coffee, hands down. Whether you get one of the coffees of the day, or enjoy a nice Cortado, you will experience some of the best coffee you have ever tasted. Also, without the higher prices of some other places. Technically the first time I had Hyperion was in a stout brewed with their coffee, but the first time I had just their coffee was in the Downtown Ann Arbor location. I rate them both equally, each with their own charm. Enjoy!

It’s small and in the back corner of the building with a half dirt parking lot next to the railroad tracks – and they serve the best coffee anywhere in Michigan. They care how they make it and they care where it comes from. Hyperion in Ann Arbor is good, but is not nearly as good as here. This is where it’s at.

Went to the first annual Chocolate festival here. The vibe was what I hoped for in an Ypsilanti setting. Quality coffee as always and the chocolate vendors matched with excellent samples of chocolate. Got the mixed bag that had something from each vendor. Delicious, all!

Very chill vibe. Indoor and now extended outdoor seating. Great place to get coffee supplies and beans. Always fun flavored lattes, current favorite is the pumpkin tahini with oatmilk. Great cold brew. They also have delightful treats like cardamom blondies. Baristas are always welcoming and willing to give recommendations.
