I had the Butter Chicken and the Chettinad with 2 Garlic Nan

I recently dined at HYDERABDI Spicy Malta Indian Cuisine, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated with a modern vibe, and everything was absolutely spotless, which immediately set a great impression.

The food is easily some of the best Indian cuisine I’ve had in Austin. The butter chicken, in particular, was incredible rich, flavorful, and honestly hard to put down once you start eating it. Every bite was comforting and satisfying. The naan was a bit on the smaller side, but the taste more than made up for it I would recommend ordering 2 of whatever kind you like per person. Each dish comes with a side of unseasoned jasmine rice that works well with both dishes I tried.

What really elevated the experience was the staff. They were attentive, friendly, and gave excellent recommendations when I told them the flavors I usually enjoy. It’s a great place to both enjoy your favorites and discover something new.

Overall, I highly recommend HYDERABDI Spicy Malta Indian Cuisine if you’re looking for delicious Indian food in a clean, stylish setting with great service. I’ll definitely be coming back.

During our recent road trip, we discovered Spicy Matka in Leander, and it turned out to be one of the best culinary finds of our journey. We enjoyed it so much at lunch that we made it a point to return for dinner on our way back.

The restaurant offers a very friendly and welcoming ambience. Everything we tried was outstanding and, importantly easy on the stomach.
During our two visits, we tried some of their specialties from their extensive menu: Momos, Samosas, Naans, Romali Rotis, Methi Chaman, Butter Paneer Masala, Tandoori Chicken, Boneless Chicken Biryani, Guntur Bilal Mutton Biryani, Shrimp curry. We also tried their Chicken Juicy Mandi, Nalli Gosht Juicy Mandi, along with flavorful Chicken Fried Rice and Noodles. Also, don’t leave without trying their in-house prepared, Dil Pasand.

Kids and adults in our party equally enjoyed everything we ordered.

What truly stood out was the owner’s personal touch – before we left, he came to our table to inquire about our meal and overall experience. His genuine passion for delivering authentic flavors and exceptional service was evident, and it’s this kind of attention that transforms a good restaurant into a great one.
Whether you’re a Hyderabadi cuisine lover or just looking for exceptional authentic Indian food in Austin, Spicy Matka delivers on all fronts.

We tried the Nalla Karam Gobi, Garlic Naan, Kheema Paneer Biryani, and the Apricot Delight. The Garlic Naan was a standout—perfectly thin and crispy. However, the service was quite slow with a long wait time. While the Apricot Delight was decent, it didn’t really capture the authentic flavor I was expecting. Great bread, but the experience was held back by the pace and flavor accuracy of the dessert

I recently visited Spicy Matka to take juicy Chicken Mandi as to go to home, but unfortunately, it didn’t quite meet expectations. The presentation was appealing, but the overall taste and freshness could be improved.
The Mandi rice lacked the rich aroma and depth of flavor that good mandi usually has — it felt a bit bland and under-seasoned. The juicy chicken was soft but not as juicy or flavorful as expected. With a little more attention to the spice balance and texture, this dish could be much better.
In the evening, I also tried their Bonda as a snack. It looked promising but wasn’t cooked to perfection — slightly doughy inside and only average in taste.
While the portion sizes were generous and the staff were polite, the food quality, especially the Mandi, didn’t feel fresh or up to the mark. ❌
✅ Pros: Decent portions, polite service.
❌ Cons: Mandi not fresh or flavorful, average snacks.
Overall, a disappointing experience this time — hoping they work on improving freshness and consistency. There is scope of improvement.

Everything was pretty good overall. The egg biryani was really delicious, and I absolutely loved the chutney. The chicken appetizer , non veg thali was amazing too. The quantity and taste were spot on. The service was excellent — very polite and welcoming. Everything was so, so good. Definitely a place we’d love to visit again.

Items tried: Veg Manchow soup, chennai chicken 65, Apollo fish, Shrimp potato pulav, Juicy chicken mandi, Chikoo shake.

Every dish is fresh and has a unique flavor. Soup is hot and spicy as requested. Mandi is not flowing with oil which was a plus. Chikoo shake is mildly sweet which was refreshing. Definitely should try out this place.

All the dishes are fresh and tasty. We tried the Nalla kaaram mushroom which is one of the best starters. The paneer Tikka is top notch. The bullet naans are very tasty and we’ll made. Must try place. Great service and food.

We ordered two vegetarian thalis. The items were vast and the taste was absolutely amazing. Reminded me of Taj mahal hotel thali in Hyderabad. It takes us back to our home! Very nostalgic. Really enjoyed every item in the thali. Would come again for sure for veg thali if the items are this vast and tastes this good. Hope they maintain the taste and varieties always☺️

I have visited this for the first time after dining in I felt this would be the last time. I tried thier Nalla Karam Chicken Appetizer which is really good I would give it a 4star. Here comes the main course Mutton Juicy Mandi which is not at all good. This is the worst Mandi I have ever had, The mutton is not cooked well and coming to rice it doesn’t look like mandi rice. Too worst!!! You can try appetizers from here not the mandi
