Had a few good meals at this location. The portions were decent and the tables were clean. Sometimes they seem a little under staffed but everyone does a great job keeping up with the customers. They have a nice variety to choose from and the bar is fun to sit at and try to pick your favorite show on one of the many tv’s playing in the space. They had a variety of drink specials and I would invite someone to meet up to take advantage of one of the specials. I would stop by again if I was in the area.

They serve breakfast and lunch until 2pm. After 2pm, one chooses from a large buffet and takes the food to the cashier, then finds a seat. My wife is a vegetarian and chose Chinese food options: veggie eggrolls, noodles with veggies, and crab rangoon. They were barely warm and had little flavor from being too long on the steam table. She didn’t finish her meal. I order the strip steak with corn and mashed potatoes and gravy. The corn and mashed potatoes were passable thoug barely warm. The strip steaks was so overcooked it was tough and difficult to cut, even with a metal knife. We ate there while waiting to pick up our prescritions; we wont’ do it again.

2 weeks ago I wrote a review about the two times I used the market grille for dinner. (You can view the complaint above). I wish to express what happened the day after the complaint. Dineen Nicole contacted me immediately and wanted a complete detailed description of what happened. Not only did she go above and beyond with making sure that the problems would never again occur, she offered me two free family meals and had them delivered to the house. This service not only restored my faith back to shop hyvee again, but also showed me that humanity is still alive and well in this crazy non caring world we live in. Thanks for showing the true meaning of taking care of the customer.

My reviews change per visit over a year ago 5 star 10 months ago 2 last couple 4. So average a 3. Service and food have been inconsistent. The specials bring us in and when it’s good it’s great when it’s bad it’s terrible.

For a chain grocery store prepared foods section this is above decent. Pretty much everything I’ve had here was good. And you get a goodly amount of food for your dollar. Facility looks clean and well run, staff are very helpful and friendly, and its super convenient with a huge selection of different tastes. I don’t eat here often bit I’ve never been disappointed with the choice when I do.

Some of the food is very good. Some is just good. All of it is premium priced. At times it seems they are pushing the limits of price/value particularly with the appetizers. The scallop entree was tasty but i needed an additional entree to make a dinner out of it.
My most recent visit, the service was attentive but the previous two visits, the service was confused, absent and disorganized. 45 minute wait for entrees. Order details missed. Long wait for drink refills. Mid-rare steak over done. Last visit was a good so maybe they have the service worked out now.

We really want to give more stars, but…we waited 45 minutes for a dry, crunchy burger. The hand-cut fries are excellent, and the happy hour specials are terrific. But, the wait and the burger were disappointing. We’ve had long wait times before, and we’ve had short wait times. You just never know here. I didn’t take a picture because I waited so long…

Always a fun visit, go there be at least once a week for happy hour. Always have a local brewery selection on tap! Food is good, relaxed atmosphere, great daily specials for all tastes. Very convenient to never grocery shop on an empty stomach!

Waited merely 5 minutes to be sat because it was obviously not very busy. Sat at a dirty booth and waited 20 minutes to be greeted by our server. Despite her doing her best, I noticed other staff standing around texting or chatting in groups. We were sat at 7:20 and did not receive our food until 8:50! It was cold when we did finally receive it, and half of our order was missing. When it finally arrived we just put it into boxes and took it home. We would have walked if it wasn’t for the effort shown by our waitress, Misha. Very upsetting that a nicer affordable place to eat has such disrespect for its customers’ time and money. I chose this location over its competitors but I will not make that mistake again.

I just wanted to say that the Wednesday night manager for the Market Place Grille goes above and beyond. Even though it was a busy night with 1/2 priced sushi she asked if I wanted a table in the section with a preferred waitress. This is appreciated, since Chelsie, has a great handle on great customer service. She remembers regulars’ preferences, and is timely with the food and refills. And is prompt and accurate with the bill. She also manages to handle all of that with good humor even though it obviously was a very busy night. Hats off to both ladies!
