We made our way to Hwy 61 Roadhouse for some Cajun dishes . The interior decor is quite adorned in cajun deco . Our server , Julie , was very good , really polite & checked on us often . Our dishes were Jambalaya (very good) , Shrimp & Crawfish Etouffee (ok but not great) and the Southern Style Catfish with Fried Okra (this was spectacular) . We took part of our dishes home along with Peach Bread Pudding with Bourbon Sauce for dessert , and wow was that really good . All in all a very good dining experience for us . Cool place ..

Definitely not the experience we were expecting. The Stuffed Mushrooms had good flavor, but were not “jumbo” or “stuffed” There was a thin layer of the crab, crayfish, shrimp and artichokes which was more of a mush. The crawfish cream sauce really didn’t have much of a flavor.
We both ordered the Seafood Platter and upgraded our side to a cup of “stew” for an uncharted.
The catfish had good flavor and you could tell was hand breaded in-house, but was served extremely greasy. My husband had to place his on a napkin, which became saturated, so he then put his filet on a second napkin to continue soaking up the grease. The exterior was definitely crispy, but the inside was mushy. They probably need to turn down the temperature on the fryer to avoid this.
Unfortunately, my crab cake had such a fishy taste, it was off-putting. I took it home and it became critter food, which I’m sure the possums and coons enjoyed.
The fried shrimp and clams are frozen out of the box, so wasted opportunity here.
The Shrimp & Crawfish Etouffee had good flavor and just the right amount of spice. The Jambalaya had very little spice, no kick at all, with just a strong tomato base flavor.
Our bill before tip came to $86, which did not have any alcohol, only 2 iced teas. Bottom line, for the money spent the meal was nothing special and there is no need to return.

This is our go to place when we are town visiting our kiddo at Webster University mainly due to the location. The cocktails are excellent and decently priced. Food is pretty good bar food, not amazing but good. The issue is the service! Three times now we have been and we are practically ignored. You have to get the attention of the bartender if you want anything. Trust me the way my husband and I can put down the cocktails they really could make some money with us but they don’t ever bother to check on our glasses. So I think this will be our last time here.

Found a nice local joint. Cajun food and great atmosphere. Friday lunch and the server was apparently by herself and not very attentive. I had the chicken and sausage gumbo. Pretty good. Live bands.

Neat New Orleans style restaurant. Large menu with a variety of Cajun food featuring a lot of fish and shrimp. There was a good band playing when we were there. The waitress was friendly. The only drawback was the chef want there and no one else could answer food allergy questions which really limited my choices for ordering. The food was good and my friend really enjoyed hers.

I enjoyed my food and the service. Everything was served hot and fresh. The service we received was nice also. Lots of cool art to look at and a relaxed environment. I look forward to going back again. Great variety of good food. They also serve a tasty bread pudding if you have room for dessert.

Atmosphere was neat & engaging, something to look at everywhere you turn. Food/Service on the other hand lacked. Gumbo had hardly any meat & lacked flavor. Had to add salt..lots of it. The cornbread was SUPER dense & hard. Honey butter tasted off, maybe like its been in the fridge too long? My fiance & I couldn’t put our finger on it. His creamy coleslaw was actually dry, which was odd. The Roadhouse Burger was passable, asked for Medium & got borderline well done. He did say the BBQ sauce was great so maybe the BBQ food stands a better chance? Saw the waitress 3 times & when asked between 2 options, she looked clueless & couldn’t convince herself that she ate this food. All in all 2/5 stars, better food in the nearby area.

Really hopping tonight. Extensive Cajun menu. Only one little thing: Their ketchup. It isn’t sweet and does not taste like a known brand – Heinz or knockoff. It was hard to eat a burger and fries if you are a ketchup lover. Our food was beautifully prepared. I brought most home to reheat and pull out my ketchup bottle. Their bbq is tasty. Know that their sauce has tones of cinnamon. We have visited a number of times before, and we are split over whether we like the bbq sauce, or not.

The po-boy shrimp (not like Louisiana) & the pulled pork sandwich (not like Memphis) wasn’t as good as we had hoped for. The waffle fries weren’t very good at all. The baked beans and the fried okra were excellent! The ambiance was interesting for sure!

Fun place to get Cajun food. Went on a Saturday for dinner. Band started at 7:00. Killer wailers. People dancing and everyone was having a good time. Had the shrimp po boy and smothered catfish. It’s got some spice. Tried the corn souffle. It’s a must try! We had the best server possible. Caroline. Super friendly and fast. One thing that’s strange, they don’t like to take reservations for less than 4? Called and they did do a reservation 2 but said they usually don’t. Were over an hour away so I like to make sure I can get a table. They took care of us. Fun music, no cover, and super nice service.
