YEAH WE KNOW THE MARGARITA, IT WAS INVENTED HERE! For 125 years, Hussong’s Cantina in Ensenada has been known as, “The bar that built a town” frequented by gunslingers, movie stars, revolutionaries and it has even seen a horse or two darken its doorways. The Margarita was invented at Hussongs back in October, 1941 by bartender Don Carlos Orozco. He concocted the perfect mixture of equal parts Tequila, Damiana, and lime, served over ice in a salt-rimmed glass for Margarita Henkel, daughter of the German Ambassador to Mexico. Not too many people know that, but it’s the truth. The story is on record in the Ensenada Historical Society and was verified by Margarita Henkel herself a few years back.

This place is a great place to hang out and enjoy the atmosphere at the very least. Food is really good, drinks are fabulous! Need to try the margaritas! The staff is uniquely great! I felt welcomed the couple times I’ve gone here and greatly enjoyed my experience both times! Michelle is lovely and Melissa funny!

I was hankering for some legit mexican food and Hussong’s delivered it in spades! Here on vacation and left the strip and it was best decision of this vacation so far. The margaritas I got were fast and top-notch. Although I have been blessed with really amazing mexican food, all the food I had here definitely scratched my itch for this genre! I only have a few photos because i gobbled down the rest of the food before i could get a picture of them.

Can’t speak to all the food but the burrito with all three sauces, the tacos and tostda salad were excellent. I loved their different salsas. one is a smoky BBQ flavor. Outdoor seating is available. Very extensive vegan menu by the way.

Great service from Melissa. Came here for Sunday brunch and had live music. Super fast service. Chips and salsa all in about less than 5minutes. Felt like we waited less than 20 minutes for chips and slasa, drinks and then our food. Ive been here before for dinner and never brunch. I got VEGAN huevos rancheros and my friend got pork eggs w potatos. Frozen margarita and mexi mule. I felt like I wanted to tell Melissa to sit down and have drinks w us. Super friendly and welcoming. Smile and great service. Thank you girl! Made brunch fun!

The food was not bad but my order did not come how I asked for it and nachos say cheese sauce but it was just melted cheese no Pico very little beans the Diablo shrimp is really spicy but more cabbage than shrimp The great thing was their salsa and chips ! The came warm and did not taste like grocery chips from store ! Great service the young man was on it ! Atmosphere was very inviting with good music!

100 stars for a full vegan menu. The fish taco was a highlight, and the chile relleno was also great. Chips and salsa were fresh and bottomless, and the margaritas excellent. Bonus points for vegan dessert!

Food was awesome – place just right where it’s at … EXPENSIVE drinks that’s for sure – it could been a better price .. patio setting is great – the inside also roomy … waitress some are attentive some are not – has friendly attitude just forget to the TEAM WORK when a guest need something gotta do it as fast as you can instead of going through another table and get order and then another 2 table comes in and you forgot about the first guest that waited 43min to get a refill ♀️
