I’ve been there many times for lunch and dinner and have yet to have a bad experience. The hostess and wait staff are friendly and attentive. The restaurant is clean and the food is fresh and so delicious. If you like Chinese food, then this is the place you wanna eat at in Longview.

Hupei Chinese Restaurant is a fantastic buffet with fresh food and warm service. The atmosphere is very inviting, clean and well decorated. The various dishes are flavorful and rich. The wait staff are kind but do not make you feel pressured. We cannot wait to visit again!

The food was not good. I decided to fill up on potatoes, rice, and egg rolls. The dessert was the best part seeming to be the most edible and tasteful. The host was not very friendly or inviting. It seemed like my waitress was trying to rush me out. My experience overall left me feeling disappointed and I will not be returning.

I used to come to this place every Sunday with family as a child. It used to be so amazing. The customer service from the man running it at that time(older guy we just called Hupei as we thought he might have been the owner) was impeccable. It had been a while since I’d been since I moved away a couple years later.
I come back to visit a few times a year and try to stop by at least once a year. It’s always been great. This time that I came to dine in(March), I was happy to see that they took Covid precautions with sanitation, seating, gloves for customers, and eating utensils. I was only disappointed that the food taste and quality had gone down significantly. This made me super sad has it is a child hood staple. I don’t know if I’d be returning. I was super dissatisfied. I guess time will tell.

This food was really good! Their sauces were as well. We don’t eat Chinese food very often and are picky about the options when we do, so we were happy with the flavors and the sizes and amounts, especially with prices nowadays. We had it delivered and they pack the food very thoughtfully. My only issue was with their rice. The rice was very overcooked. It was hard. It came in a white container and the top few spoonfuls seemed to be cooked, but when I went in for seconds, all the rice underneath was very hard and overcooked. Will try again.
