I can’t say enough good things about this place. For the price, the value of the food is incredible. Everything on the menu is tasty and so worth it. Even their fruit smoothies are amazing, I don’t know how they do it while having such reasonable prices. If you’re wondering which pho restaurant in Ottawa is the best, it’s this one.

I usually don’t give high ratings for places off the first visit. I usually write reviews if I’ve been to a place 3-4 times and have tried various things off their menu.

After looking for a place that serves Hainanese chicken I decided to come to Huongs Bistro for lunch. I ordered Banh Xeo and the Special No.1 aka Hainanese chicken.

The banh xeo was solid it had everything you wanted in every bite. The crunch, flavour and freshness of the vegetables.

The Hainanese chicken was amazing, the rice complimented the chicken very well. The chicken stock on the side really brought out the simple flavours in the chicken.

For those who never had Hainanese chicken. At a glance it may look like some boiled chicken slapped on top of rice. It’s not that. It’s all the simple things that make this dish what it is. From prepping the chicken before it is cooked to serving it on a plate with cuts so careful the chickens skin is still intact. Hainanese chicken is rich and flavourful.

With that said Huongs is definitely one of if not THE Vietnamese spot that is super versatile, affordable and delicious.

Having seldom wandered from the main strip of Chinatown (which is Viettown in reality),I had never head of Huong’s. I just happened to walk by one night as I missed my bus and needed to take an alternate route, noticing the sign, I looked them up on Google. I saw they have good reviews and a fully-featured menu, this piqued my interest and I decided to make it an outing a few days later.

I’m pleased to report that they truly deliver on flavour and hospitality. Awesome food with great value, I really look forward to trying more of the menu, this is absolutely worth the detour.

If you’re looking for Vietnamese food at great value, that doesn’t slouch on flavour, Huong’s is your ticket.

BEST TOM YUM BEEF NOODLE SOUP! Banh Xeo is cooked perfectly, crispy, loaded with the ingredients. And their prices are reasonable and fair! Definitely would recommend coming as Ive been there at least 15 times over the last 6 months since Ive discovered this place!

Easily my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in the area and the most authentic food I’ve had in Ottawa. Trying out all of the dishes on the appetizer portion of their menue brings back memories of traveling through Vietnam, and I have not found this anywhere else in the city.

The owner is genuine and very nice, portions are good, and prices are in line with what you are getting. If you are looking for off the normal usual pho, this is the Vietnamese restaurant you need to try.

Hands down the most underrated, and my favourite Vietnamese restaurant in Canada. The food is fresh, delicious and an amazing value and the service is always friendly and warm. Their prices and portion for the food has remained and is sooooo affordable and cheap, I honestly. You can still grab mains for around $10-12 and the portion sizes are similar to mediums at other restaurants at prices for 30-40% less.

Tried pretty much everything on their menu and this is what it’s supposed to taste like, so freaking good and authentic. Love it!

Staff are really friendly and you can see how hard they are working. They deserve the best! Overall, this place is awesome. I would HIGHLY recommend trying out the food here!

Yup a 5 star find. Very good prices, cheerful service and convenient to downtown Ottawa.

Everybody recommends the Green Papaya salad. I dislike papaya but loved this dish.

The grilled pork on the bun was some of the best I have had.

A new fav.

Everything here is incredibly clean and well organized—even the sauce bottles and utensils are polished. Bún bò Huế is a must-try. It reminds me of when I used to eat Bun Bo Hue in Vietnam Now I’m craving it and already looking forward to my next visit.

Huong is so kind and clearly holds so much pride in the food here. :^) And for good reason; the bun bo hue had amazing depth of flavor in the broth and very lemongrassy which was so addictive!! + I could tell that they take care to clean and skim the pork hock thoroughly to get rid of the funk. Their homemade pork sausage was also so delicious. Next time I gotta try pho bun hue!! I meant to take pictures but when I sipped the soup I forgot LOL.
