Cozy, humble steakhouse featuring a familiar menu of hearty American plates, plus beer & wine.

They don’t take reservations but we were seated quickly. Our waitress was great and very attentive and very knowledgeable about the specials and the menu. We were seated by the door and it doesn’t shut well so it’s freezing in the winter time. I got a burger and it was so good I forgot to take pictures before I ate it. It’s a very laid back atmosphere, very cute on the inside. Thank you for having us!

This is a great small town style steak house it doesn’t look like much from the outside. But it is definitely worth the stop. Steaks were great and service was amazing. There steak sauce also one to try we usually don’t put sauce on a steak but there’s was so good. Also on wendsday they have a two steak special that is a great deal. Only thing negative is the ranch is not homemade. And no ceaser salads.

All food, no frills. If you want a great meal served by fantastic people, this is it. You can go big or simple. Amazing food and service but it’s small since it was originally intended to cater to hunters in the area. Nothing fancy. If you have a big group plan ahead with them, they will make it happen.

Last night was date night for my wife and me, and we made the short trip from LaGrange to Hamilton to try Hunter’s Pub & Steakhouse, and wow, what an experience.
There was a wait (about 35 minutes), but that was no surprise because the food is that good and the service is that great. Honestly, we were happy to wait. The vibe with everyone in line was upbeat and fun… and then Santa showed up. Yes, Santa. If Santa’s visiting your restaurant, you know you picked the right place.
Once we were seated, our server was absolutely amazing. Since it was our first visit, she made a few recommendations, and we trusted her completely. Best decision ever. We both went with the big filet and added a lobster tail appetizer that’s not even on the menu, half fried and half grilled. Both were fantastic. The steak was cooked perfectly, full of flavor, and exactly what you hope for.
But what really stood out to me was the atmosphere. The place was busy, crowded, and fast-paced, but everyone was happy. People were smiling, laughing, and clearly having a great time. At one point, the entire restaurant stopped to celebrate a gentleman’s 89th birthday. I’ve heard birthday songs at restaurants before… but I’ve never heard everyone sing, loudly and together. It was incredible.
This was an outstanding date night, and I’d recommend Hunter’s to anyone, whether you love a great steak or just enjoy a fun, high-energy restaurant where people are kind, courteous, and genuinely enjoying themselves.
One last thing I loved: several of the servers were wearing “1827” shirts. I asked about it, and I won’t spoil it here, but if you see one while you’re there, ask. I thought the answer was super cool!
We’ll absolutely be back.

This spot is the real deal! I had an amazing experience here with my friends. We waited about 30 minutes for a table, but it was absolutely worth it. The food was on another level, from the filet to the ribeye, steak tips, and that grilled lobster tail… OMG, everything was cooked to perfection.
Our server, Kaitlyn, was incredible. She took care of us from start to finish and made the entire experience even better. People like her remind you that there are still genuinely good people out there.
And I can’t forget the peanut butter pie, we demolished it in seconds. Pure heaven!
I honestly can’t wait to go back and try more dishes from their menu. That’s how great this place is.

I went here the day after Christmas thinking it may not be open…when I seen a line formed at 4:30pm, I knew I was atthe right place. I was seated up at the bar by the gals that were as sweet as can be. I had the Ribeye & lobster tail, green beans, and a loaded baked tater….all of which was spectacular. This is a great little steakhouse with exceptional people serving and grilling. Absolutely will return. Thank you Brooke for your courteousness, and the peanut butter pie!

This place was surprisingly good. It’s a good little hole at the wall place. The waiters were very friendly and extremely quick to meet your needs. The pork chop was a little disappointing since it was extremely dry. I don’t suggest it the fried green beans work my favorite, but the steak on the other hand, that was phenomenal and blew me out of the water the ribeye to be specific. The mashed potatoes and rolls were also really good.

Go for the food, fun and service! Lower your expectations around what a, “steakhouse” is and you’ll be treated to an amazing steak, fried lobster tails, sides and desserts truly are. This was a return visit for us and just like our first, it did not disappoint.

Hunters Pub is a true definition of a dive with great food! The steaks and home made pie are delicious. This was our third time there and second time taking another couple and everyone totally enjoyed Hunters Pub.
Remember the place is small and fills up fast so get there early!

First time here, told by someone about it and the place didn’t disappoint! Whole in the wall steakhouse for sure! Open at 5, get there at 5 or after 7, if not, your gonna wait, not a ton of seating and it’s tight in there! Waited 20 mins to sit, from sitting to getting our meal was 1hr but again they were packed at that time. Had jalapeno poppers appetizer, 2 waters, 1 mountain dew (yes they serve Pepsi products, so hard to find around here and I was happy, sorry coke fans LOL) Ribeye with fries and mixed onions and mushrooms, NY strip with loaded potatoe and side salad. Ghirardelli peanut butter pie X2…$110. This is a steakhouse, so you come for the steak and it was well worth it, delicious and cooked correctly! Would have liked a little more fries with the plate and potato was lukewarm. Jalapeno poppers are delicious…be careful, hot and cheese squirts out and will burn your mouth, I’m sure we have all been there lol. Side salad only comes with tomato and cucumber, added cheese and bacon. Chocolate peanut butter pie is so so good, only thing I’ll say is although the crust is thin, it tastes really weird, almost like a stale or freezer burn taste, need to fix that. Of note, they have fried lobster tail, not on the menu…we didn’t know but will definitely ask for it next time! Brittany our server was also really nice and even though it was busy, she was accessible. We will definitely go back!
