The tender juicy brisket is only available Friday so stock up! It is very smokey and their mild and hot bbq sauces are both very complementary. The vinegar coleslaw was something I’ve never tried before and is an interesting flavor. The creamy coleslaw I liked a little better but I think the vinegar coleslaw might grow on me over time. I have always liked creamy coleslaw but that vinegar bite is real good. I mixed a little with the brisket and it reminded me of the eastern North Carolina vinegar bbq flavor. I’ll be back on a Friday sometime soon.

I was disappointed a bit with our visit here. Perhaps a bit more homework on this place ahead of time might have made a difference, but it wouldn’t have made any difference on the service. As far as the homework ahead of time, I wasn’t aware that they were only open 3 days a week, and I DEFINITELY wasn’t aware that they only offer their brisket and ribs on Fridays ONLY. We went on a Thursday evening, and due to the 30-minute drive, we got there 30 minutes before they closed (not really used to restaurants that close at 8PM). They were sold out of the pulled chicken and the fried cabbage, which they let us know while we were looking over the menu. So, our options for what was actually available to order were significantly reduced for our visit. Somewhat our fault for not reading details prior to coming, and for showing up close to closing. The man that took our order at the counter though, was incredibly rude to my wife. We tried to order the chicken nuggets from the kids menu for our youngest daughter, and he angrily said that he already told us “they were all out of the chicken”. We knew about the pulled chicken, but nothing was ever said about the chicken nuggets, and it certainly didn’t warrant the way he spoke to us. The food we did get was a mix of good, ok, and not great. The pulled pork and the fried potatoes (with a side of cheese sauce) were good. The chili cheese dogs, baked beans, coleslaw, and smoked pork tenderloin were ok. The chicken breast was a letdown. It was dry, and lacked good smokey flavor. It tastes more like it was grilled and didn’t have any good seasoning. It was cash-only, but they do have an ATM on site. I really don’t understand why, (as a BBQ restaurant) if you’re only open 3 days a week, you would only serve brisket and ribs 33% of the time you’re open. Maybe with the full menu available, the food may have been better. Really hard for me to get past rude staff at a restaurant though…

Very good pork shoulder! It’s quick and they have good prices for the amount of food served! This was my second trip, I definitely can recommend the “pig tail” fries. I liked the mayo coleslaw but wasn’t a huge fan of the vinegar slaw, which I have never liked but wanted to try.

While working my bf and I decided to try this place. It’s in the middle of the country in Albany.
It is a cash only business but there is an ATM in the restaurant. It is owned by an obviously avid fisher and hunter as all the decor is about one or the other.
They have a very large selection of bbq and sides I was pleasantly surprised.
I would like to see some corn bread and Mac n Cheese on the menu though since they’re staples in the bbq industry. But the sides they do offer are yummy too!
I decided to try the brisket with swamp cabbage and coleslaw with a cup of sweet tea.
The cabbage was FIRE it was seasoned to perfection and super buttery. Absolutely delicious some of the best I have ever had
I am super picky about coleslaw this was perfect. I got the mayo slaw. The flavors all combine to work perfectly together. I could’ve bathed in that dang coleslaw it was that good. I would go back for the coleslaw and cabbage alone.
The brisket however was pretty dry. It had nice flavor but Im used to brisket that melts in your mouth so if that’s what you’re looking for this isn’t gonna be it. however, after slathering then hot bbq sauce they offer on it it was fire. That bbq complimented the meat perfectly. It has a little bit of a kick but not overly spicy.
The tea was perfect. It wasn’t overly sweet but not so sweet that you just taste sugar. Delicious.
We would definitely go back and try more things for sure!

The total was about $35 so a little on the pricey side but I will gladly pay more for good food.

I had the pulled pork platter with cowboy beans and pigtails. My wife had the pork tenderloin with potato salad and cowboy beans. The meat was tender and delicious, the hot BBQ sauce was really good. The beans are savory. The pigtails were great; they were hot and fresh and well seasoned.

I heard good things about this place so we had to give it a try. Wish I could say we enjoyed it but from the dried out hard cheeseburger, to the uncooked potato wedges, and lastly to the dog food canned pulled pork. Will never be back.

I had brisket w/pigtails & swamp cabbage. He had shoulder slices w/tater salad & bowtie salad. All of it was absolutely delicious. Everybody there very friendly! Will definitely go back!. They open Wed Thurs Fridays 10am-8pm

Stopped here while visiting from Indiana on Wednesday.. had pulled pork, swamp cabbage, and mayo slaw.. Food was great! Was looking forward to trying it again before leaving town however, Friday night when we arrived they were out of ribs, brisket, swamp cabbage, amongst other things. Very disappointed we weren’t able to try more of a variety but recommended for anyone passing through

Very much enjoyed the food. Had the shoulder with some pigtails and some potato salad with some unsweetened tea. Very good, also enjoyed the overall atmosphere. Definitely worth sampling and I will absolutely come again.

Pretty good, but not great BBQ. I enjoyed the pulled pork plate with a side of vinegar slaw and baked beans. The pork was good, but not great. The slaw was really good as was the beans. I spent $12 on lunch, not too bad for the amount of food that you receive. I did really enjoy the ambiance of the place, so many decorations on the wall!
