You know those times when you’re feeling down in the dumps, or maybe you’ve had a terrible day, a week, a month, or sometimes even a bad year? You know that moment when you finally realize enough is enough and you decide to just treat yourself? Well, treat yourself….I did. This is the type of place where you can always expect to feel welcomed, always expect great food. By far my favorite calamari in this entire city is served right here at Hunter’s. Do you want a good steak? Well come here and get a great one. Today I had the calamari (of course…I mean, it is a staple after all), and the grilled pork chop, Ditka cut with apple-onion chutney. Do you want to feel special? Wait, better question, do you want your taste buds to feel better? Then treat yourself to a rollercoaster ride in flavor town. Still feeling down? Then cheer up with the Mount Everest of mud pies.

From the rotating, make your own salad wheel, to the fresh and warm sourdough loaf, the Hunter’s Steakhouse was the perfect place to take my wife for her birthday. The service was great, and they even brought out a fudge cake with a candle so we could sing in her honor. The steaks were cooked perfectly! They were juicy and left us wanting to return soon.

Had a large party. Restaurant was nearly empty.
Took 15 minutes just to get a glass of water.
Waiter took orders for specials only to find out 10 minutes later they were out of specials.
Waited a LONGER time to reorder.
Took 70 minutes for food to arrive and I had to send back my cold, dry rack of ribs! Others in party were equally did appointed.
Bottom line, DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE MORE THAN 4 PEOPLE.
UNDERSTAFFED AND UN MOTIVATED.
5 stars for this restaurant are either by staff friends or are very lucky.

Hunter Steakhouse used to be a great restaurant. The last 2 times we were there and ordered the bone-in large prime rib it was terrible! The bone was not attached, was ice cold (almost frozen), everything else on the cold plate was cold. With 40 years in the restaurant business I see no excuse for this (especially on a slow night). Will not go back!

If I could give a 0 Star I would
Service wasn’t that good at all.
After waiting 10 min thinking she would
Refill our drinks I finally had to ask for refills.
I got the ribs wasn’t good at all they were way
over cooked and the mash potato’s wasn’t hot
My friend got the soup he said it was microwave it was very hot and cold in spots and wasn’t good at all
You would think a place the charges that must money would be good our bill was $100
I would not recommend this restaurant and will NOT go back

Great service, fantastic food and reasonably priced. I visited on a Tuesday at 630 and was able to be seated without a reservation. The sirloin was delicious and priced under $25. Don’t go to a chain, visit Hunter steakhouse!

I highly recommend this restaurant. Having been a restaurant owner I know it takes very little effort to make a customer’s dining experience a good one. The Hunter knows how to do this. Great service, nice presentation and the best Prime Rib I’ve had that I didn’t prepare myself. No one I have referred to The Hunter has been disappointed.

The fact is that used to be a good place and different from the rest of the chain restaurants but had some remodeling and new things or new owners (I am not sure) in the last few years and things have not been quite right since. If I ask for medium well, they bring the steak medium on the edges and by the center is already rare and blood all over. I started now ordering fish in these type of places because there is no restaurant in this city of Yuma where a cook gets the concept of rare, medium or well done or in between. The experience is like in any other restaurant and NOT for the prices they charge. If you want a steak, Texas road house will be as good; If you want to eat the same steak without the noise, pay few more dollar and come to this place. the noise is the only difference. One thing, there is NO one worthy restaurant in the city of Yuma, so you know and not get your hopes too high. Sorry, I lie, may be IHOP is the best only at breakfast
