An Unforgettable Gourmet Experience in the Heart of Utah

We can’t say enough about Hunt & Gather Restaurant in Torrey, Utah—this place is absolutely top-notch! From the moment we arrived, we knew we were in for something special.

Nancy, the owner and hostess, was exceptionally accommodating and made us feel instantly welcome. Her warmth and attention to detail set the tone for an extraordinary evening. Her husband, the chef, is a true culinary artist who created meals that were simply out of this world. Each dish was a masterpiece, featuring thoughtful and artistic presentations that were almost too beautiful to eat.

We were adventurous and tried the elk, trout, and antelope—all prepared to perfection with incredible depth of flavor. The quality of the ingredients was excellent, and everything tasted incredibly fresh and expertly prepared. You can taste the passion and skill in every bite. And we absolutely must mention the sweet potato pecan pie—a perfect ending to a perfect meal!

Our servers, Emily and Lisa, were both professional and amazing, providing attentive service that enhanced the entire experience without being intrusive.

Hunt & Gather offers a true gourmet dining experience that you simply won’t find elsewhere in the area. If you’re looking for exceptional food, impeccable service, and a memorable evening, this is the place. We highly recommend it and can’t wait to return

We had a wonderful dining experience at Hunt & Gather Restaurant. The presentation of each dish was truly beautiful, showcasing the chef’s attention to detail. The quality of the ingredients was excellent, and everything tasted incredibly fresh and well-prepared.

A special mention goes to our server, who was exceptionally kind and attentive, adding a warm and personal touch to the meal. We ended with the Chocolate Decadence cake, which was absolutely delicious — rich, perfectly balanced, and a real treat.

The shaded terrace overlooking the garden is also a highlight — a peaceful and charming setting that made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommended!

While visiting Capitol Reef National Park, I wasn’t expecting much in the way of dining options, but this restaurant was a pleasant surprise. Despite its secluded location, it delivered a refined dining experience that exceeded my expectations.

After a long day of hiking, the well-prepared dishes and warm atmosphere were exactly what I needed. The food was genuinely good, flavorful, and satisfying.

If you’re in the area and craving something beyond campfire meals and granola bars, this spot is well worth a stop.

The food here is amazing. We had the asparagus and antelope appetizers and the elk entree. Everything was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. The staff was very friendly and attentive. It is not a big place so it’s best to make a reservation. If you are in or around Torrey, definitely eat here.

We can’t say enough about this place. Top-notch all around. First, Susie made us feel special and appreciated. She should win a medal for having to deal with some of the crazy people that wandered in off the highway. That includes us. Emily was our server and she was awesome. Completely professional and amazing. We did threaten to withhold her tip when she gave us the devastating news about the sweet potato pecan pie running out, but she quickly defused the situation with delicious ice-cream and hot coffee. Like I daid the woman is a pro. The whole meal was amazing from the antelope app to the last sip of cider. If you’re in the area wander in, but make a reservation to make it easier on everyone .

This place did not disappoint. Such an awesome menu. The Antelope appetizer was incredible, tender, flavorful. Definitely a must.

For dinner, my wife had one of the specials, Cast Iron Steak Marsala, and it was an absolute flavor bomb. The steak medallions were flawless.

I went for the Buffalo Ribeye. It was cooked properly but a bit lean for my liking. Nothing like a beef ribeye. But the dish was good, and the potatoes and vegetables were great.

Their ice cream is made in house and OMG was it great. I also ordered the Sweet Potato Bourbon Pecan Pie because… sweet potato pie for dessert? Yes please. My wife got the flourless chocolate cake and it’s one of the better ones (if not best) we’ve ever had.

Super happy, very impressed, and not at all what we expected the dining experience to be like in a tiny rural town.

Also, we were here at the end of May and sat outdoors. The views were just gorgeous and the weather was perfect.

I hope this little restaurant flourishes. They deserve it!

The food was very good. The service can use a lot of improvement. Please find matching dishes and matching cutlery. The plates did not match and the knives and forks did not match. I’d like to see cloth napkins instead of paper. I would like to see a server who can pour wine without dripping it on the table and not cleaning it up afterward. If you want to provide high end service and experience please up your game.

Some of the best meals in the middle of nowhere. Filet mignon and elk were top notch. Such good flavor. Portion size of sides and vegetables could be increased for the price.

Exactly what we were looking for. Quiet, upscale and delicious. Interesting menu. Reasonable wine list and prices. Beautifully prepared food. Our server (Kerry), was super friendly. We had the antelope appetizer with wine to start. Then we ordered chicken and the elk for main courses. Tons of flavor and very tender. Not even the least bit of game flavor. We sat outside and really enjoyed our evening. Great work Chef! Look forward to seeing them all again.
