Hunky’s Old Fashioned Hamburgers in Bishop Arts served strong food on my visit. I went on Sunday with my girlfriend. We ordered the Texas cheeseburger, chili fries, a strawberry shake, and a diet coke. The burger held solid flavor and stayed juicy. The chili fries brought good heat and texture. The shake tasted fresh and balanced. The retro vibe added to the experience. The front desk guy felt short with us, and it seemed like he had a rough day. The meal still delivered real value. Five stars for the food and the setting.

This place delivers solid, old‑school burgers and classic sides. Their cheeseburgers and specialty options (like mushroom swiss or bacon cheeseburgers) are consistently praised for being flavorful and satisfying. I personally love the hand‑dipped onion rings, crispy fries, and patties that are cooked fresh to order.

Not good at all. Took 45 minutes to get our burgers. When finally served, both of the burgers ordered were some of the worst in Dallas. Very overcooked and dry. Minimal amount of condiments and toppings compared to the amount of meat. Pictured is the Mushroom Swiss and the Bacon Hickory Cheeseburger.

This is a tourist trap in Bishop Arts.

Great burger and equally great customer service. A bit of nostalgia dining here. Nothing fancy just good old fashioned yummy burger and onion rings. Reasonable prices. Spacious dining so you aren’t crowded. No blaring music. Clean dining area. Highly recommend

Stopped in on the fly. Early lunch. Plenty of seating and not much of a line at the counter. Poured over the menu and decided on the single patty melt and single turkey burger. Both burgers were very good. The fries were very disappointing. You cannot really ruin French fries. Until you do. They were bland soggy. Not a crisp to be found anywhere. Did they meet the grease ?? My friend had some qualifiers for her turkey burger that were not met. The patty melt was hot, creamy and amazingly delicious. I opted for a Coke-a-cola from Mexico while my dining companion had water. First time for me, to visit Hunky’s. I will be back to give them another try.

Hunky’s is more than a great burger spot, it’s part of our family and our community. I’ve been bringing my students here for years to practice real-world life skills like ordering, budgeting, and navigating public spaces. The staff has always been patient, welcoming, and kind, which makes a huge difference for young people learning independence.

Now I get to come back in a new chapter of life, bringing my 2-year-old son to start our own family traditions. It’s special to share a place that’s meant so much to me professionally and personally. Great food, great people, and a place that genuinely feels like home. We’ll keep coming back…. again and again!

This is easily my favorite place in Dallas to grab a burger and fries. Their customer service and food quality are consistent. I recommend adding jalapeños to your cheeseburger for a winning combination. They also have corn dogs that remind you of the ones from The State Fair without the long lines.

Immediate service that’s straight to the point with a welcoming atmosphere. I got the Chipotle burger, and it’s pretty good. I got a meal with no drink and it was almost $14. I know it’s not 5 Guys that gives you a colossal amout of fries in one order to scam you out of 25 bucks, but Hunky’s could’ve done a little more with theirs. But that’s ok since I got 2 little ketchup packets to split between them

I had a great experience at Hunky’s! The food was fresh, flavorful, and served hot. You can tell they care about quality. The staff was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and the vibe of the restaurant was relaxed and welcoming—perfect for a casual meal.

Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or dining in with friends or family, Hunky’s hits the spot. I’ll definitely be back!

Hunky’s Old Fashion Hamburgers is an absolute gem. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a fun, welcoming vibe and top-notch service. The burgers are exactly what you want them to be—juicy, flavorful, and made fresh with quality ingredients. You can truly taste the old-fashioned goodness in every bite.

The menu has something for everyone, and the sides are just as good as the burgers. Everything comes out hot, fresh, and perfectly cooked. On top of that, the staff is friendly, attentive, and clearly takes pride in what they do.

If you’re looking for a classic burger spot with great food, great service, and a laid-back atmosphere, Hunky’s Old Fashion Hamburgers is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming back!
