Reviews
– seafood and beet dumplings are their specialty. It looks luxurious with a big piece of scallop on each of them, but the scallop is under-flavored. There is a little shrimp shell in the dumpling I had.
– there is a short hair stick with a shrimp dumpling dough.
– the dumplings are often stick together, so it’s difficult to not have them pierced when I pick them up.
– one side of my steamed pork buns is not wrapped very well, so the filling is visible when it’s put on our table
– Siu Mai is OK
– The best one is deep fried squid
The view from the restaurant is pretty good. Seating is comfortable.
The texture of them and the flavors explains why they are on the Michelin guide.
I believe they are always packed better to reserve if possible.
The pricing was also on the higher side. While I understand that premium ingredients and location can influence cost, the value didn’t quite match the price point when compared to other dim sum places in the city offering similar or better quality.
Service was another area that could be improved. The staff seemed rushed and not very attentive, which affected the dining experience. For a restaurant of this reputation, I expected a higher level of hospitality and organization.
Overall, while the ambiance was pleasant and the menu selection was solid, the experience did not fully meet the expectations set by its Michelin Guide recognition.
P.s: They have changed the menu so there are many of dishes that we saw on Google Reviews were no longer available.
It mainly drinks tea and eats Dim sum.
If there is no reserved seat, it may take an hour or even longer to wait.
The Dim sum tastes very good, and the chef’s craftsmanship is excellent.
I think if there are many people next time, we will try fried vegetables and large Noodles in soup.
1. For a $60 order, the portions are ridiculous.
2. They couldn’t bother to seal the bag for a DoorDash order.
Food wise: the lemon bbq pork pies taste awfully wrong. The lemon flavor is too overpowering. Durian mochi’s mochi texture is quite mediocre. The beef balls were just okay, a bit too starchy.
It’s a bust. I won’t order again.
Used to live in Hong Kong for while, I am confident to say, the food here is quite good and delicious and authentic! Some of them might be a bit off but mostly are pretty fresh and yummy to eat! Also really good to welcome people from
Other country or cities when they are curious about how “Chinese” food are!
Will continue coming here sine this is already my 4-5th time here for lunch/brunch already!
Oh and a important tip, when you park downstairs which says it’s “pay parking” but remember don’t pay first, just go directly to the restaurant and in the front door there’s a iPad thing you can key in your license plate and the parking fee will be automatically waved!
I appreciate their creative signature dim sum like the squid ink dumplings, squid ink cakes, and abalone pastries, which show effort and originality. However, some dishes could be improved — for example, the squid ink cake had a slightly oily aftertaste, which was a bit disappointing.
A nice perk: if you visit before 11:30 AM, there’s a 15% discount, and dim sum customers also get two hours of free parking — a big plus for a downtown location.
Overall, it’s a decent option if you’re downtown and want dim sum, but not quite at the same level as top restaurants in the Chinese hubs outside the city.
