The food is good, there is a good variety of protein and veggies to prepare your soup or grill.
We paid about $30 per person, which I think is ok given the amount and variety of food available.
Immediately upon walking up to the entrance, there was an employee smoking cigarettes close enough to the door for the scent to waft inside. Once we got in, we noticed a industrial fan sitting on a seat that looked like it was for customers, and a large bucket of dirty water next to it.
The staff, all on their phones, shot us an interesting glance, and then one of them seated us. We told the waitress it was our first time at Hungry Pot, which she then gave us a mile-a-minute speech and when a family member asked a question, she didnt answer it.
Once we had received some drinks, I asked for plates and napkins, which are normal things on tables at restaurants. She proceeded to tell us they were up at the buffet bar. When I looked around, our table was the only one that didnt have plates or napkins :/
From there, it only got worse.
– the waitress almost tripped and fell on the huge cord running along the floor.
– the person who brought us our food rammed the cart into the table super hard, said nothing
– the floor was filthy with old food everywhere
– this pains me the most, we were asked to cook our food with individual BUTTER PACKETS
– last but not least, the men’s room had a baby changing station – that was not assembled. just sitting there in its original box
This place nearly ruined hot pot for us all, but now we know KPot is the only place to go for a good time that’s worth the money.
The menu has a nice selection of meat and seafood, as well as some veggie options and plenty of hot pot ingredients. They also have a ton of different sauces you can grab from the buffet bar. You may want to try their specialty cocktails too if you’re into that.
If you like KBBQ, I would strongly recommend giving this place a try. Usually there is little to no wait, but it can get busy on holidays.
Great place for couples or even a big group of 10, they can accommodate that . Food selections were excellent !
They also have a bar with a large variety drink options
Despite the busyness of the restaurant, Ms Martina is always available to serve us. She is quick on her feet and doesn’t delay when changing our hotplate.
Her dedication to making us feel comfortable and going beyond herself to serve is impressive.
I now know why my friend who comes to this place almost weekly would celebrate his wife’s birthday here. The crew who sang Happy Birthday to her have done a fairly good job.
The atmosphere with so many neon lights is a little bit distracting. However, the food is quite authentic and being a lover of hotpot, there is a mixture of Japanese, Chinese and Korean food. The steamed crab is great and very generous on the part of the owner but the crawfish is quite disappointing. We ordered tomyum and miso broth and they were both excellent.
I suspect the restaurant is owned by a Chinese, despite it is supposedly a Korean restaurant.
Anyway, I might still come back for my birthday celebration. A great place to come when you are starving.
