Great atmosphere. Lots of fun decorations and places to take pictures with the family/friends. I’ve seen some reviews taking about the music and profanity. I didn’t personally hear any on our visit. I appreciated the early 90s rap and so did my family! They have a big menu. We tried the Hungry Crab special #4 which had crawfish, muscles, shrimp, corn, potatoes, and two eggs. It was definitely enough to feed two people and pretty delicious. The muscles were some of the best I’ve ever had. My kid had the fried shrimp and French fries which were fresh and delicious as well. The clam chowder was pretty good. I’d probably add a dash of old bay to it and some Louisiana hot sauce, give it a kick (but the Louisiana hot sauce was on the table, so you’re good to go.). We did get a half dozen steamed oysters as well, not the best I’ve had but pretty good (medium in size). The hush puppies were also pretty good, but they may have been previously frozen. I’m not sure about that though. If they’re a batter, I’d definitely recommend making them a little larger in size and adding a little more pepper and green onion into the batter. They also have a full bar and a good drink selection including Silver Bluff beer. I would recommend providing metal forks to the guests or crab claw crackers. Forks are cheaper and can be used to easily crack tough spots and joins in crab legs just in case someone doesn’t get to the meat on the first try. Overall this place is 4 stars in my opinion. We got a house special that feeds two, a kids dinner, a half dozen oysters, an appetizer of hush puppies, two beers, a lemonade, and three waters for under $92 WITH TIP. It was $76 before the tip. As far as decent seafood dining out, that’s a pretty good price. But truly the atmosphere is outstanding. Some folks put a lot of hard work into these designs and it’s worth going just to see the place on the inside! The parking is great, plenty of spaces. And the seating is very nice too. Lots of seating. They even have private rooms. I don’t know that I would call this the top seafood place in Brunswick/the Golden Isles, but a good place for sure.

Service was great! Cool atmosphere, If I had to be picky I would recommend using a more family oriented play list, lots of profane language. Food was yummy, I would go again BUT I will say I believe the corn and sausage might have been sitting out a while due to consistency of both. Overall glad I gave it a shot despite the reviews! (:

Ordered a calamari and shrimp boil. The calamari was chewy and the corn was over cooked. I tried appetizers from others in the group and the mozzarella sticks were chewy and salty and the wings were not good. I personally would not visit this place again.

Fun decorations with great fried seafood. Our server forgot to submit one of our party’s food order which added about 12 minutes until their entree arrived after everyone else. Also, she felt she needed to ask if we wanted a refill on drinks even though my glass was nearly empty before the food arrived…yes, it is the end of July in South Georgia: go ahead and refill those drinks. An annoyance is that she talked to us while walking by, not stopping to check on things or how we were enjoying our meal or if we needed anything else. The last weird thing is we never got any silverware or an offer for any, although the crab on the paper tablecloth is holding a fork and spoon (????) I don’t see on the website that it’s a fingers-only restaurant, and it felt weird dipping a catfish filet into a sauce and eating it, but it still tasted good.

On vacation or just simply hanging out with friends in the Golden Isles. The Hungry Crab has a delightfully fun atmosphere. Boiled shrimp was excellent served with corn and red skin potatoes the spice mixture was delicious. Coconut fried shrimp was good. Full bar service.

Went on a Tuesday evening and it was dead…but still oddly was very slow and we waited longer than normal for anyone to even come ask if we wanted water and we started thinking “do we really want to order seafood at a place that doesn’t seem to have enough customers to keep the doors open?” And the other reviews had me nervous. Then the music being played was using profanity and I was glad our kids weren’t with us. We ordered an appetizer and it was fine but the whole feel of the place had us nervous so we paid and left.

Don’t waste your time! My son and I went on Friday July 14th (Brunswick Ga) Seated quickly but she tried to seat us at a dirty table when there were dozens of clean ones. Only about a dozen tables occupied and saw 4 waitresses while we were there. Took almost 15 minutes for a waitress to come close enough to order our teas. Almost 10 minutes later- still no drinks. Just finally walked out. Saw the only 2 people seated after us looking around for a waitress too. Absolutely ridiculous and the 4 waitresses I saw seemed more concerned about talking to each other and never got in a hurry. There were 2 hostesses sitting up front while people weren’t getting any service. They didn’t even look surprised when we got up and walked out-almost like it happens frequently. The people that were seated about 5 minutes after us walked out too. My teenage son was in complete agreement to just leave because the service was so bad.
