There are not very many places to eat around here. So it’s understandable why the prices are high.
Stopped by for breakfast. The menu looks good. I tried the burger and coffee and paid upwards of $25 with taxes.
Great ambience, neat and convenient.
The patio looks welcoming.

Great road side restaurant. The (big) burger was hot and perfectly cooked with a great sear, while the veggies were crisp and crunchy. Gravy was good brown style of appropriate viscosity, and the fries were crisp on the outside with a meaningful fluffy filling inside. Highly recommend if you’re hungry.

Came for lunch on the way to a lodge and the food was exactly what was needed! Fries were delish and the banquet burger was perfect! Loved the wood cabin inside! Next doors’ store was also amazing to look around (try the fudge!)

We stopped for lunch at the Hungry Bear Restaurant, just minutes off the highway. We enjoyed the outdoor space and picnic tables, as well as the air-conditioned restaurant and clean washrooms. The menu featured a variety of burgers, sandwiches, and hotdogs. There was also a retail store selling souvenirs, candy, snacks, clothing, homemade fudge, pickles, jams, camping supplies, and local artisan products.

We stopped to check out the trading post.
Clean washrooms and pleasant staff.
Coffee to go was delicious. Vanilla shake was very small for $4.59 and too sweet.
Seeing Hungry Bear mascot was delightful!

Love all the food we got. Priced well for the quality and portion of food you’re getting. Great service, friendly staffs and clean place. Plenty of free parking.

I used to come here all the time as a kid and I’d always stop in on my travels. It’s a little harder to get to now unfortunately and If it was open I’d have given 5 stars. The washrooms were still available so that was convenient.
Lots of stuff to browse in the gift shop and the most delicious fudge !

This is a very convenient stop if you’re on a long road trip. The property is huge. Good spot to let the dogs out for a stretch. Good washroom facilities.
Restraunt prices are expensive for what is served. Portions are okay. But very basic simple food. Very cozy place to sit and eat. Very kid friendly. Staff are very efficient.

I love this location, right on HWY 69, in beautiful French River. It’s certainly a travellers pit stop for a bite en route to Sudbury or on the way to Barrie, Toronto and other places down south. The staff here is extremely friendly and being in the same complex as the French river trading post also makes this a worthwhile stop. I have visited this restaurant over many decades and the food and atmosphere is only getting better. Highly recommend a pit stop here….

Horrible service: unwelcoming and the cashier guy only acknowledged my husband and didn’t look or address me even though I was the one who paid. Then onto ice cream, the person didn’t smile at all and was super grumpy and very blunt even though I was very polite and said thank you!
