Located on the circle in Litchfield, Ohio, this classic down to earth diner has downright good comfort food made from scratch for breakfast, lunch or dinner. You won’t have any complaints & you will feel like the welcome friend that you are here. The Hungry Bear has been my son & I’s go to place since many years ago when he was a young hungry cub. Food hot off the griddle & service that is consistently fast & friendly. An added bonus is The Hungry Bear’s extensive selection of homemade desserts which are great me treats or for celebrating that special occasion whether you dine-in or carry-out. The Hungry Bear is alive, well and proof positive of why diners need to survive to outlast chain restaurants. Don’t forget to make a uniquely you expression, put your arm around the Welcome Bear & snap a picture or two or three or more because you can never get enough of The Hungry Bear.

Happened upon this place on a random drive with my daughter on Mother’s Day. Local diner type restaurant. Loved the atmosphere and everyone was super nice. Food was great, large portions, great price, and hit the spot! My daughter had the pancakes with side of sausage links and hashbrowns and I had the Papa Bear skillet with sausage links and wheat toast. Britt, our server, was extremely nice, very attentive and helpful, as well as went above and beyond with her service! She not only wished me a very Happy Mother’s Day but also had put a hand written note on my piece of pie we also took with us as we were too full from our lunch. Will be having that later We will definitely be back! I have got to try their peanut butter pie!

Stopped in for dinner around 6pm. Everything was very clean including bathrooms. I had the Roast beef. It was very tender. Mashed potatoes and mac and cheese. It was all good. I added a slice of banana cream pie. Sooo delicious. My server was Brittany. She was wonder. Pleasant. Tipped her 50%. My cost with ice tea was 19.43. For meal. Very good value.

They have THE best baked mac and cheese! My husband and I came upon this great little diner by chance. I’m very glad we tried.
Overall, the food and service is excellent! HIGHLY recommend this place.

Seriously, this place has the best food!!! They also make freshly made handmade pies too.
Been there about 4 times now and each time is never a dissappintment!!
Tried their roast beef and oh my yes! I really would love to know how they make theirs because it is not your typical roast beef restaurant roast beef entre.
Visit #5, tried the hot turkey sandwich and it was delish!! Real turkey, and not the rubbery stuff!
