My first time here today. I got 2 specials ofc the board. Pork dumplings and half rack of Chinese ribs. I went in looking for Dim sum. The Chinese ribs were pretty good, bit not dim sum style. The pork dumplings we awful. I left those behind, they were so bad. Wait staff was slow… kinda Meh. Nothing to write home about.

I ordered the lemon chicken. What I got was a container of dried up chicken with cherries and something green hanging onto the inside of the food container. Lemon sauce on the side. Completely unappetizing looking. 15 bucks for this less than jail food??!!! Not again.

We have truly enjoyed the food of Hunan Village for years, until today. I do not like leaving negative reviews but I hope Hunan’s will remedy the situation so we can remain loyal customers. Tonight, Feb. 3, 2026 we spent about $70 for our take out and we got our favorite dishes. I usually enjoy the Chinese chicken salad among other dishes and nothing was like the usual food. The dressing was all off and did not taste good on the salad …. Well sadly none of the dishes tasted very good. We also noticed the Chinese hot mustard (that we love) was very watered down and tasted “off”. Maybe you have a new Chef, but I hope changes are made soon. So I have carryout dine in and doordash today. The price is great for the lunch specials liked the chow menein and springroll. Soup good too, my entree was good but not what I ordered , actually have no clue what I goot some shrimp in a brown sauce with mushrooms, very mild but tasty. I did order shrimp in lobster sauce though so kinda bummed. My boyfriends mongolian beef was delicious. Next time going in better service that way.

My girlfriend took me here and best Chinese food ever… very authentic egg rolls! Unfortunately, the young lady serving us was not very good, but she wasn’t the worst just she was busy talking to the busboy and not really paying attention, not very friendly had to ask for what we needed when we could find her. The food is really good.We went for lunch and it was unbelievable how much we were given! The portions are large and really good. I’d totally recommend this place to any and everyone.

Tried the chow mein and it had zero flavor. Fried rice wasn’t any better. This is the kind of food that makes you wonder if anyone in the kitchen actually tasted it. Bay Area Chinese food is galaxies ahead of this. Fortuna, you deserve way better. Chin’s is the only spot in Humboldt that I tried so far that didn’t make me want to spit out my meal.

My family and I had your food last night and we were all very disappointed in the food. The chicken had extremely hard to chew pieces, the food in general was pretty tasteless, the Rick was undercooked and crunchy.

Not once have I ever had a complaint. If you’re looking for quality for what you pay for, this is a great place. I have never gotten food poisoning, and everyone I’ve talked to has been nice and understanding. Bigger portion sizes, bigger flavor, well balanced and fully cooked food.

Hunan Village is better than ever these days! I ordered a few dishes to go and they were all piping hot, great quality, and most of all, delicious. Service at the front counter was very friendly – I was all around very pleased. I highly recommend the Chinese chicken salad and General’s spicy chicken.

On Google Maps it says it’s a buffet but on Sunday there was no buffet only the foods that were on the menu that you had to ask the waitress for.
Very good service, food comes quickly, we ate wonton soup it was delicious, but we took two other dishes that needed more seasoning to give the food a taste, the price is reasonable, interesting to go and see it to evaluate with your experience.
