Food was absolutely delicious and ready pretty quick! I got shrimp fried rice– shrimp was large and well cooked! Very flavorful! I also got crab rangoon– real crab meat and oh so good! I had to ask for the sweet and sour sauce for it, but the lady was polite and gave it to me. It was sooo crunchy, warm and delicious! And I got fried chicken wings.. and they nailed it!! It was crispy and cooked so well! Batter was delightful! Very good overall! I will come back!

First time ordering from Hunan Tasty. I always order my go-to (safety net with new places) which is General Tso’s chicken and crab rangoons. The rangoons were quite good! In most places, they are 99% cream cheese and scallions, but these actually had some crabby flavor. Not the best I’ve had, but enjoyable. The General Tso’s was quite tasty. I asked for hot and spicy, but only got a little tickle on my tongue (like your standard General Tso’s, in my opinion). The chicken was moist and still had a little crisp to them even after the time it took for delivery (which was received 10 minutes before the original ETA). I asked my order to be placed at the door, but the delivery person was courteous enough to call letting me know he had arrived. Overall, I’m looking forward to trying other dishes!

This review is only based on the orange beef dish that I tried. Orange beef is one of my favorite Chinese dishes but this place was a big disappointment. I basically wasted $17 on food! The chunks of beef were all stuck together either when dipped in batter or fried. Usually when I get orange beef from other places, it’s extremely crispy but this was soggy. Another let down was that it was like 80% soggy batter and 20% meat. It was hard to eat and enjoy because the batter just came off the beef every time I tried to pick it up with a fork or bit into it. I wished the orange flavor was also more prominent. It was kind of bland and lacking in flavor. I finished the broccoli though…I think that says a lot about this dish. I will never try this place again. Hunan Tasty? The business should be renamed to Hunan Nasty!!!!

I’ve worked in Virginia for nearly two decades and have tried many Chinese restaurants, some okay, and others not good at all. Yesterday, I tried Hunan Tasty, and it was AMAZING! I ate so fast that I forgot to take pics or write a review.
Today, while traveling from my office in Rockville to work a shift in Fairfax, I heard my belly cry out, and it begged for more Chinese. I hit Doordash and just finished some beef fried rice with General Tso chicken, and Lord have mercy! The food is delicious, hot, and made me take pics and write this long review lol. THE BEST I’VE HAD IN VIRGINIA TO DATE! If you don’t believe it, place an order and see exactly what I mean.

Delicious food at a good price. They have good asian food and vegetarian options; the portion sizes are perfect for a casual lunch or dinner that. The cashier and staff are friendly and they keep the restaurant clean and nice. They also do delivery for an extra dollar.
