I visited here on a Friday evening for a dinner date! The place was really well decorated, has Jamaican paraphernalia all around! I loved the flag colors and atmosphere! There was very little wait, and the host helped us choose what to order. The menu is very extensive but also includes many classic Jamaican dishes (curry goat, jerk tilapia, oxtail, jerk chicken, etc). We ordered the jerk chicken and oxtail dinner, each plate came with cabbage and rice and peas. I found it to be delicious! And well seasoned! The chef did not hold back! 🙂 And he was so sweet the whole time.

Hummingbird is amazing. I appreciate the staffs and managers kindness to me even though I have autism and their food is amazing and really good. Owner Dwayne is nice. Very well run and feels like home. Jerk chicken is great. Must come back. 10/10.

The food was absolutely Atrocious, gravy sauce was very watery, I ordered curry goat with rice and mac & cheese, goat meat very small pieces and a lot of bones, And the rice was Overcooked, Bay leaves and ginger root in the food, so i found my self chewing on it, The whole dish tasted like ginger, Which is absolutely not supposed to taste that way. The macaroni did not have any flavor, The jerk sauce was watery and not authentic, It tasted like pepper sauce

I love this place, their food is so good!
My favorites are the beef patties, jerk chicken dark meat, cabbage, and rice with beans and gravy.

A coworker picked up our orders so I can’t speak to the service or atmosphere.
The food was ok. Chicken didn’t seem fresh and the cabbage had what I hope and assume were remnants of seasoning; little stem like pieces throughout the cabbage. But it was good could have been cooked a little longer for my taste.
Group didn’t care for the Mac and cheese at all. I got yams which were good.

chicken not hot flavor wise the chicken wings were very small not jumbo at all and the jerk sauce is very watery not tasty at all

Ok so I want to preface this by saying, this would’ve been a 5 star review HAD my rice not been crunchy and weird in chunks. Otherwise that food was absolutely divine. The service was awesome and other than the rice, I can tell that they put lots of love and time into their food but they should really consider updating the ambiance of the restaurant. Doesn’t make you want to sit and eat unfortunately. What they might fail to realize, is that if someone sits to eat there, they order more. They will almost ALWAYS get drinks and possibly dessert. They will get their investment back. Food for thought. The curried goat was honestly the best I’ve ever had. Awesome and hot beef Patties, flavorful and juicy chicken. No issues…but that damn rice! Lol

Here’s the story: We found an online coupon for this Jamaican restaurant. Since we’d never eaten Jamaican food, and since we are on occasion adventurous, we decided to try it. At first, they were surprised by the coupon, but finally accepted it. She had jerk chicken; I had goat curry. We were both blown away by the food. I have eaten in Ghana and was strongly reminded of that experience in both flavor and spicy heat. The fried plantains were excellent. She also had a ginger beer, made fresh in the store, and loved it. If palm wine had been available, I really would have thought I was in West Africa!
The coupon question would normally knock down my service score more than a star. But they came roaring back with excellent recommendations and some above and beyond service. The setting flaw was only minor: more napkins were needed.
It is clear that the two people who served us love this cuisine and are outgoing to their customers. We had a great adventure and highly, highly recommend the Hummingbird.

I called about callaloo. It was made for me. I really enjoyed the food. The rum cake is so very light and delicious. The natural juices taste different from the bottles. They are so good that I had two. It was worth the drive. I will return to eat there again. Louis Louis is the owner, and he is so accommodating. I love this place. I ordered stir fry and Jerk dinners for my parents. I’m going to try more menu items. Greens and yams, cabbage, and plantain are all so very good. I love the rice and peas. You can make your food as spicy as you please with the sauce on the side. The chicken is so flavorful that it doesn’t need sauce.

The food here is AMAZING. I mean beyond all expectations. The jerk chicken was perfectly cooked and heavily spiced, the rice and peas were flavorful – even the steamed veggies were great. Throw in the 3 perfectly cooked plantains and you got one very happy customer. The staff and owner were super friendly and welcoming. Even the bathrooms were super clean. Great little find!
