What a great night. The staff was fantastic and very friendly. We did the Chef’s Tasting Menu. We opted for the potsticker surf & turf and Kiawe roasted vegetables dip. For dinner my wife had the macadamia nut crusted fish and really liked it. I had the Hawaiian salt rub steak and it was cooked perfectly. We also had the original hula pie which is macadamia nut ice cream. This location offers great views and a decent sunset. If you’re thinking of eating here just do it, you’ll be glad you did.

This is a very nice upscale restaurant, at least at dinnertime. One of the best meals we had on Maui. I took the photos of our meals after we started eating (and swapped sides), so they don’t do the meals justice. I’m knocking a star off Atmosphere because it was very noisy–we had a hard time having a conversation. At these prices I expect a somewhat quieter atmosphere where we can talk comfortably. Note that reservations for dinner are essential.

Had a very nice dinner with my family the last night we were here in Maui. Not only was the food amazing, but the view was beautiful! It is a beachfront restaurant, was able to watch the sunset from our seats. Food was very tasty & we took dessert to go!

Located right on the beach, this is the perfect spot for a sunset dinner. We walked in and were told there was a 30 minute wait, but time flew by because the vibe was so great. We took some pictures on the sand and were just about to explore Whalers Village when boom our table was ready! It’s a high energy place with fantastic live music and dance performances.
The food was fine. The flatbread was a highlight. However the Hula Pie was a no for me, it was a bit too sugary for my taste and I realized I’m not a big fan of macadamia nuts

This dinner was delicious. We started off with the pork potstickers, then for the main dish we got the macadamia nut crusted fish and it was our favorite dish! At the end of dinner we got the delicious Hula Pie!!

We really enjoyed our dinner at Hula Grill in Kāʻanapali. It’s a large, lively restaurant with a great atmosphere, and the service was truly outstanding. Our waitress, Astrid, was amazing—so friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm. She really made the experience memorable.

We started with a couple of appetizers and drinks, but they were just okay. The cocktails were nothing special. The bread service was a big miss for us- it wasn’t even served warm, just room temperature. The ceviche was fine but not the best we had on the island.

The entrées, however, completely won us over. We ordered the wood-fired local fish (mahi mahi or ono- can’t quite remember!) and it was phenomenal. The romesco it came with was delicious. The filet was also excellent- perfectly cooked and full of flavor.

To top it all off, Astrid surprised us with their famous Hula Pie for dessert, which was such a sweet and thoughtful touch.

Overall, despite a slow start with the appetizers, the exceptional service and amazing entrées made this a fantastic meal. Highly recommend!

We went to the barefoot bar featuring live music between 6pm – 8pm. We got sat right in front and that was cool!

We are disappointed about the food. Nothing fancy for the price. (Including drinks) Flavor was meh, and unmemorable. Our dinning experience was 10x better at Monkeypod.

Obviously, we came for the hula pie (was very good), but food is just okay.

Fantastic beachfront restaurant! Hula Grill Kaʻanapali has an amazing oceanfront location with a relaxed Hawaiian vibe. Perfect for lunch or dinner while watching the waves and the sunset. Great food made with fresh ingredients, friendly service, and delicious cocktails. And if you’re lucky, you can even see whales jumping right from your table! A wonderful spot to enjoy the true Aloha feeling — we loved it!

Stopped by Hula Grill Kāʻanapali to catch the sunset and enjoy a drink and a bite. The vibe here is great — a big, lively restaurant that’s clearly very popular on the west shore of Maui.

I ordered the ceviche and the fish & chips. The ceviche was fresh and tasty, but it’s a small portion, really just enough for one person. The fish & chips were okay, nothing particularly memorable.

Overall, it’s a fun spot to grab a drink and some food while watching the sunset, but don’t come expecting an outstanding dining experience — the atmosphere is the main highlight here.
