As you walk in you are immediately greeted by a friendly staff with a welcoming attitude which is also uttered as you leave. My wait staffer — Shaquille – was very professional and delivered my appetizer of dumplings along side a bowl of steam rice. As you circle the grill masters there are a variety of fresh options from proteins, veggies, soups, sauces and desserts. The grill masters grill your select dish to perfection as you circle around to grab your pleasant smelling creation. The atmosphere is trendy suitable for all gatherings to socialize with an upbeat crowd where there is suitable parking with a reasonable budget friendly menu for most diets.

Very lively atmosphere with friendly staff. The food is nothing amazing but it’s certainly a fun experience that I would recommend to try at least once. Mixing and matching sauces was quite interesting.

This place is always delicious. I finally looked up at the sauces station & realized that they have suggested recipes for the flavor you want to achieve so this last visit was the best tasting so far. Turns out when I make my own choices I seem to always pick things that are very spicy. Meek & mild was really very good. Definitely won’t burn me twice like my decisions in the past if you catch my drift.

We had especially helpful, pleasant service from Jordan. She was great and made our lunch with our family of 7 very pleasant. Hostess taking names and seating people also very nice and efficient (I didn’t get her name – but we were there after 1:00 on a busy Sunday January 11).

I’ve been here several times and it’s always a good experience. Service is always good, even during busy times. The food is always stocked and fresh. The cooks have good team work to get everyone’s food out quickly. (Tip if you can)

We came here to eat, got in the grill line, and found that every bowl we could have taken was dirty. Some had pieces of food, others stuck on food, some just looked a bit sticky. We completely lost faith in the kitchen and left.
Maybe try scrubbing the bowls before putting them out for the public.

Well I jinxed it. Went back on New Year’s Day and had a terrible experience. Will only be going to the Ankeny one moving forward despite being a longer drive. Love going to Hu Hot! Went there last night and all was great but the service. Gregory my server was all over the place and we had to wait multiple times. A wait isn’t bad at most restaurants but we spent about 15 minutes waiting for him to take our “order” (didn’t even offer soup or salad even though it is dinner hours and we pay extra for those items), and then waiting for our check. We only spent about 40 minutes in the restaurant. Almost 50% of the time we were there- we were waiting on him.
I still am giving 4 stars because even if the service isn’t the best, the food is!

Always a fun experience! If you don’t like the food, you can only blame yourself. You go through and pick out whatever you want the chefs to stir-fry for you.
Nice selection of proteins, veggies, noodles, and sauces to choose from. All you can eat, you can go through the line as many times as you want.
They also have beer & mixed drinks available.
Friendly, attentive staff. Plenty of seating available. Ok parking….strip mall type. Handicap accessible.
Price is $14 per adult I think. Good stuff!

Wow, awesome awesome awesome. We chose the meats and different veggies we wanted to be our meal. They also had zucchini noodles and Asian noodles to choose from, they bring rice to you at the table. You then choose the seasoned oil you want your food grilled with, I didn’t count, but maybe about 12-16 to choose from, even mixed mine to get the level of heat and spice i like. What I thought was interesting was that everyone had a different meal. Fresh and hot.
