It’s been a long time since I last visited this restaurant. I really enjoy the whole Mongolian barbeque concept and flexibility of choosing you proteins and vegetables and sauces. I like to get less in each trip to the grill circle so I can change it up and vary the flavors. Reasonably priced for all you can eat. They are heavily promoting fried rice as an option but it was not available when I was there . Apparently it is not consistent. The furnishings are well worn but overall the place is very good. The staff is super friendly and the grill masters do a great job. I would definitely go here again and hopefully they will have the fried rice!

Food choices were good, create your own dish with a good selection of noodles and veggies. Then your choice of many sauces and oils to complete the dish.
Take the bowl to the grill and they’ll finish it for you.
Still good. Been several times now. Joined their club for good rewards.

It has been a minute since we visited last. It was a Friday evening right at about 6pm. We were able to walk right in and be seated immediately. The noise level was high as there was a good amount of people here today and they were making lots of noise at the grill.
5 stars for the waitress.
She was quick, attentive and helpful with any questions. It really speaks volumes for the staff to continuously have good reviews. I wasn’t hungry enough to have the buffet and didn’t think I would eat my fill of what it cost. We decided to get the Taste of Bounty Appetizer sampler. You get 3 of each of their fried appetizers. There is crab rangoon, wantons and rolls. The sampler was good. All items were fried and served with a sweet and sour sauce. I also ordered a house salad to have with the appetizer. The waitress really talked up the made in house ranch so I took the bait.
The salad was just iceberg chunks, couple cucumber slices, tomatoes and croutons. The ranch was really good. She also brought a bowl of white rice to go with the buffet purchase, but you really don’t need it with all the other filler options up there. I slowly enjoyed my food while my husband got his moneys worth at the buffet. Lots of hungry people this visit. Hubby did a different flavor each time he went up there. He mixes it up as much as he can. If you think you will eat your fill through the line its not a bad deal. The options outside the buffet are limited. GF and allergy friendly.

As a buffet, HuHot Mongolian Grill is a great spot to ensure you leave 100% full, and the pricing in 2026 remains right on par with other local buffets. I always enjoy coming here because the food is consistently good, and I love the freedom to experiment and make my own creations with their signature sauces.
However, this specific location had some downsides during our visit. It felt very cramped and overcrowded compared to other HuHots I’ve been to. It was also quite dirty when we arrived—there was rice all over the floor, though it did eventually get cleaned up after a while.
A note on dessert: I also tried the Oreo rangoons, and they were bad—definitely skip those. My advice is to stick to the main buffet and a side salad.

Best Mongolian Grill around. Was busy but got seated immediately. Waiter was a bit slow once we got seated but once he started serving us, was Johnny on the spot. Going through the line was quick and the good wad good as always.

My husband and I ate at HuHot restaurant tonight in Ankeny Iowa and I’ve got to tell you that of all the restaurants that we’ve been to in a long time the service by one gentleman particularly named Duncan was out of this world top notch one of the best servers I’ve seen in years he obviously loves his job thank you for making our experience enjoyable first date night we’ve actually had by ourselves in a long time and it was very enjoyable

Food was awesome. Be sure to watch for the “flame” icons indicating how hot the sauces are! I didn’t realize they were there and accidently grapped a very hot one. I ate half of what was on my plate then had to give up and get another plate to start over without the hot sauce. Lol
