This place is just amazing, much like their interns, they offer some of the best ice cream and milkshakes I’ve ever had we recommend the peanut butter cup the treats are as awesome as their mission to help make young folks with Down’s syndrome visible and better accepted. They teach their interns valuable life and work skills and the community how valuable everyone can be when you take the time to look! They have make and take custom mugs and/or water bottles you that you can make for a steal at $10-$12 plus, they also offer birthday party parties and corporate events that are all hosts by an inter whom has downs. They are such an awesome bunch over there, it’s a fantastic family friendly ice cream stop with some of the sweetest smiles too! Hugs not required but if your lucky enough you might get one too! If I could I’d give them 10 stars cause thanks to there fantastic programs at Gigi U the sky is their limit! Stop on out you won’t be disappointed!

Lower rating for how the woman (guessing manager, she was wearing a pink beanie hat) behind the counter was treating one of the employed gentlemen. I believe his name was Eric. He was very nice, greeted me when I walked in and asked how he could help me. I asked for a menu for the coffees. He said they didn’t have a menu but he could suggest the different flavors they had. I was listening but the woman interrupted him and started reading off of a list I guess. He gestured to her and said she would help me, to let me know she would be taking over. I guess she didn’t like that because she then told him to “be quiet” and “wait your turn to speak”. Which was crazy, because he was already doing that.
I understand this is a place for supporting individuals with Down Syndrome and I am all for it. I am not however, for the condescension I witnessed towards said individual. In an ideal world I would like to come back to support, but there needs to be a talk with management here. Maybe someone with more patience and self-awareness and actually wants to work with the interns they employ. Kindness always <3
Maybe I’ll come back once enough time has passed. Will update this review if there is an improvement or it stays the same.

I am so incredibly happy our road trip brought us to this little gem.
You will never have a cup of coffee, latte, or anything really made with more love than you will here. That’s what makes this place so special.
The drinks and such aren’t anything to write home about. But the place, mission, and people are. This is a wonderful space that allows individuals with down syndrome to work, serve and interact with people.
This place will absolutely warm your heart. Spot by and support this wonderful place, if you get the opportunity to!

Hugs and mugs is awesome! I highly recommend it for any size party. Check out their gift shop. They have quality products. I absolutely love the fact that they are hiring individuals with different abilities and giving them skills that they can use to earn normal wages just like everyone else. A+ Plus

Hosted a baby sprinkle for 20 people at Hugs and Mugs and it was wonderful! The team at hugs and mugs made it a great experience. The gelato and beverages were delicious and very reasonably priced. They did custom printed designs on steins and insulated mugs for us that we gave as party favors. Even has a playroom that the kids were able to use. An amazing time and so happy to have learned about GiGi’s Playhouse!

What a great place! I took my students there to create a mug and they turned out beautifully. The fact this place gives people with Downs Syndrome a safe place to work is a fantastic concept. Thank you so much!
