First time trying this place. I had limited time during my lunch hour so I stopped in on my way back to the office to grab something to go. I got the full size club (turkey ham and bacon) on sourdough bread with pepper jack cheese. Heard i had to try their fries so I got some of those too. The staff was super super kind and helpful. Very fast service as well. In total for the sandwich and fries with a side of ranch, under $15. Not bad at all for the amazing quality and portions! I definitely will be back. My only complaint… the ranch was trash.. in my humble opinion

I’ve been coming to this Deli since the 1990s.
Their sandwiches are loaded with all of your favorite things, and they are big enough to bring half home.
I love, love ,love their Deli fries, they are to die for, but beware they are a calorie buster! I’ve come to learn that this place is good in moderation. Lol
They have many items to choose from on their menu beside sandwiches and Deli fries, and you definitely get what you pay for.
The staff is always friendly and helpful and the service is fast.
If you’re in the area and hungry, I recommend stopping in and trying them out.

I love Hugo’s Deli. The sandwiches are always great, and the fries are honestly one of the best parts—unique and seriously delicious.

This location also has a special place in my heart. When I was a kid, my friends and I would ride our bikes about 5 miles just to come here, and I still have vivid, wonderful memories of those trips. I go to the Hugo’s closer to my house more often now, but this original spot will always be my favorite for the nostalgia (and the food). Highly recommend!

I had a fried chicken breast with a quarter pound of fries and a fountain Coke Zero. The atmosphere and the staff made the place truly feel like a neighborhood spot and because of that I can understand why people come here. I thought the fries were good with the fry sauce but I think if they were crispier they would phenomenal. My chicken was on the drier side and lacked seasoning, so I’d go for dark meat here.

Had the club on Rye, extra pickles, the potato jo-jos and a Dr. Pepper. I love a sandwich where the best bite is all of them. Soft bread, quality sandwich construction (kept together). Nostalgic fried potatoes. The youths working were all polite and helped with calm and humor. I was by myself, and wished I wasnt, just so I could split a different sando with my friend. The cobb salad sounded great too. I’ll be back.

Picked up for dinner driving to Provo. Fantastic sandwiches, had the grinder and the club. Problem was that we ordered half sandwiches and it wasn’t enough! Needed a full size. Great service, not a super awesome service but the place is just ok. Perfect for pickup. Would go back in a heartbeat for more

I went in on Friday/oct/10 around 4:30. l often have good experiences here but today was way off, i ordered a simple roast beef on sourdough, meatball sub, and a French dip. The ingredients on the sandwiches were amazing but they were put together so lazily. They forget cheese on the roast beef after a very specific conversation about it. The meet ball were barely warm. The blond gal seemed to understand what was going on but the brunette gal seemed like it was her fist day but it obviously wasn’t. She kept staring at me like she was confused and then asked me what I wanted on my sandwich like 3-4 times per sandwich. She seemed super baked. Idk what was going on I’m not sure she rang me up right and obviously did not care about my food. Usually amazing but I was very disappointed today

Got our lunch to take home today and we were EXTREMELY disappointed with the quality! ALL our sandwiches were light on meat and barely any fixings at all! For the price you pay, I advise you eat there or double check your order before you leave! We like to support local but I believe in this instance, we would have been better off going to Subway!

We were really excited to try this sandwich shop after reading so many great reviews, but unfortunately, we were a bit let down. Overall, everything was just okay. When we asked if the Reuben was a hot sandwich, we expected it to be grilled or served warm—not simply on toasted bread. Additionally, the Reuben included pickles, which traditionally aren’t part of the sandwich and gave it an off flavor. On the positive side, the French fries were delicious, and the chicken tenders were quite good. Still, a classic sandwich like the Reuben should be prepared true to its style or, at the very least, clearly described on the menu with its exact ingredients.

Dayyyyyum! This place freaking rocks! It’s kind of hard to find a good deli still in operation these days. I remember scouting downtown Boise for a good one, and while Main Street and Deli George were good, they don’t match up to Hugo’s one bit.

My wonderful husband and I shared a turkey bacon avocado on sourdough bread ($7.99). I’m super glad we decided to split because it was huge! There was a good amount of turkey and bacon stuffed into the sandwich. And holy cow was it FRESH! In my opinion, quality trumps over quantity, meaning I’m more than happy to give up an overstuffed meat sandwich for one that’s not so overflowing but made with fresh ingredients. The bread was also excellent! They use locally sourced ingredients, and for that I applaud them. You can buy full loaves of Zeppole bread from them. We took home a ginormous loaf of sourdough ($5.99) and have been happily devouring it every chance we get.

The location is a little out of the way if you live anywhere beyond southwest BOI. It’s located in an older strip mall right off he corner of Five Mike & Overland. But worth the trek, I guarantee!

I’ll be looking forward to my next visit here! Not sure if I wanna branch out because the turkey bacon avo was soooo good! I’d recommend this to everyone in search of a great sandwich shop!
