I was staying in nearby Ellerbe for a half marathon and couldn’t find any restaurant there that served wine with dinner. Came across this deli in the neighboring town and was surprised to find such an array of options on the menu…and a full service bar! Food is like diner quality, but so are prices… very reasonable. Hearty, comfort food. A few vegetarian options, not a lot of vegan. But one can be creative when ordering if needed. Service was good and cook was accommodating. Pic is of the spud with mushrooms, pepper and onion. I scraped off the cheese. Salad was basic, but fresh. Fried pickles were delish. Lemon meringue pie was an indulgence.

Baked potato was very good the taco salad not so much being was microwaved expect to hear gossip while waiting entertained by the staff as they eventually take your order if you like that sort of thing. Definitely a different kind of deli atmosphere is more like an American legion bar type but dark and with carpet.

A Rockingham Institution. The food os all good. Even on their worst day, they put the chain stores to shame. Burgers are excellent and have a decent size. Chicken tenders are excellent, crispy, and served with ranch, which is some of the best. The ham steaks are something you have to try once. They are well worth it. The ambiance is homey and has that hometown nar and grill feel. They have live music quite often, so stip in and catch some of the local talent while having great food. Did I mention cold beer on tap?

Ordered two “Super Spuds” for dinner and expected the same classic super full of all the topping spud that we’ve gotten here for years. Got the food home and after checking twice found that there was no meat on either of them. Called and offered to return them as a replacement, the waitress says for us to just keep them and they’ll remake them right. After over an hour and a half from the initial order I finally received two remade “super spuds” to take home. Lo and behold I get home and if there ever was a pinch of meat that’s what we received. The menu claims these to be Super Spuds, but nothing was super about this experience or the two failed attempts at making a menu right. Stuffed with meat is how the description reads but disappointment is the only thing they were stuffed with.
