My 5th time trying out this restaurant. Needed a somewhat last minute reservation for a NYE dinner. First off, and I’ve always known this, but once you get to the dining room, the restaurant has the appearance of a diner trying to fancy itself up. If you want a much better diner experience, go to Cap City at Bridge Park, and the food is way better at Cap City. I digress…the service was very, very slow, and they weren’t even that busy for NYE. The Hawaii Five-0 roll was not very good, not awful, but not worth even close to $23. I would be just as happy with a $10 roll from Kroger, or just go to an actual sushi restaurant if you want sushi. The ahi tuna tartare was actually decent, and you got a lot more bang for the buck for $1 less than the five-0 sushi roll. The house speciality ‘wood grilled salmon’ was pretty bad, was crazy dry and zero flavor. The side of couscous that it came with, again, just terrible. Just a rushed thought on this dish, awful pairing. The tortilla soup, Campbell’s chunky tortilla soup is definitely better. The carrot cake for dessert, some of the worst carrot cake I have ever had. All in all, don’t spend your money at this restaurant. I could have saved myself $150 (meaning, I would have spent $30 at Brassica…Hudson 29 bill was $180 for two with one ridiculously overpriced glass of Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc, and a Mocktail) and gone to Brassica down the road for better food. Also, VERY awkward when the server hands you a card reader with an automatic 20% tip selected, when she spent less than 10 full minutes actually helping you out, and couldn’t give a recommendation on anything. It was like she had never tasted anything on the menu.

An Evening of Epicurean Elegance: A Review of Hudson 29
Stepping into Hudson 29 Kitchen + Drink in Upper Arlington is not merely a dinner reservation; it is an induction into a world of refined comfort and sophisticated Americana. From the moment we crossed the threshold, the atmosphere enveloped us in a serene, hushed luxury—a rare sanctuary where the lighting is as warm as the hospitality.
The Gastronomic Experience
The true centerpiece of the evening was the Prime Rib. Ordered medium-rare, it arrived as a masterclass in culinary precision. The exterior boasted a perfectly seasoned crust, yielding to a center that was exquisitely tender, succulent, and blushing with the ideal shade of rose. Each bite was a decadent journey of flavor, standing as a testament to the kitchen’s unwavering commitment to quality.
My companion’s selection was no less impressive. She indulged in a signature hamburger, which was prepared with such artistry that it elevated the classic dish to a gourmet height. Accompanied by a crisp, elegantly structured glass of wine, her meal was a harmonious symphony of textures and tastes that left her thoroughly delighted.
Service and Atmosphere
What truly distinguishes Hudson 29 is the seamless choreography of the staff. Our server was a paragon of professional grace—attentive without being intrusive, and exceptionally knowledgeable. They guided us through the menu with the expertise of a seasoned sommelier, ensuring every choice was tailored to our palates.
The environment itself struck the perfect chord of quiet intimacy. It is a space designed for meaningful conversation, where the “hustle and bustle” of the outside world fades into the background, replaced by plush surroundings and a sense of genuine ease.

Sat in the bar for a late dinner. Great atmosphere and service. We had a spicy tuna roll and their “King Kong” roll, both were delicious. Great selection of bourbon, smoked Old Fashion didn’t disappoint.

This spot is such a favorite of ours — the ambience at this location is really nice and cozy, especially the booths around the bar. The service is friendly and attentive, and the food is always on point. For brunch, we had the short rib hash, and it was tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Instead of potatoes, we went with the corn and avocado side, which was surprisingly delicious and paired perfectly with the hash. It’s one of those places where everything comes together — the setting, the food, and the service all make you want to stay awhile. Definitely a go-to for a weekend brunch or a casual lunch. Every visit leaves us happy and full, and we can’t wait to come back again.

I’m seriously impressed—everything we ordered was amazing! The dips were tasty, the cheese rolls were perfect, the salads were fresh, and the chicken sandwiches were just right. And then there was my sea bass… oh wow. Perfectly cooked, succulent, and absolutely exquisite. You can tell they put a lot of thought into their ingredients and preparation. This is the kind of place where you leave happy, full, and already planning your next visit. Honestly, I don’t say this often, but it all felt genuinely top-tier.

We dined in for a Saturday lunch. They have great food and great service.
Ahi tuna tartartte appetizer is a 100% must-try.
For lunch entries, the chicken has a unique savory and the corn salad tastes juicy. The grilled steak tastes good too but the feta cheese comes with it is too salty. Also I wish the steak portion could be more. The salad comes with grilled salmon is a big surprise!
I also recommend the Citrus olive oil cake in the desert.

First time in Columbus and we needed a late dinner where we could get good food, good drinks and a vibrant atmosphere; Hudson 29 did not disappoint. Sat at the bar which was surprisingly full at 8:30PM on a Thursday night and was instantly greeted by one of the bartenders. To make a long story short, my martini was ice cold and my husbands margaritas were perfect. The food was delicious and portions were generous. My husband had a salad, which was huge, and the chicken meatballs in an Asian flavored sauce that also tasted really good. My sushi roll was fresh, delicious and plentiful. Highly recommend Hudson 29

Great waitress today(3/1/26)! Quick service and really good food. Grilled tenderloin was awesome, salty and tender with great flavor. My kids loved the surf and turf sushi roll and you cant go wrong with the appetizer donuts( they were Meyer Lemon with blueberry compote and whipped sweet cream ) they were moist and rich and very lemony!
