Good morning, Facebook.
I don’t usually post things like this, but after repeated experiences and feedback from others, I feel compelled to speak up.
This morning I stopped by the Huddle House in Franklin, VA for breakfast. I’ve always enjoyed their omelets. You seat yourself, and the manager brought me a menu—then completely forgot about me. Two families came in after me, of another race, and were served promptly.
This is not an isolated incident. It has been openly acknowledged that she caters to those she feels will tip her. For the record, I tip well—and often go above and beyond. Many of her employees, including cooks, can attest to that. I give when I’m led to, and I do so gladly
I’ve visited this location many times and observed this pattern but chose to overlook it. Everyone has to make a living. However, this has happened one too many times.
I’ve also been told by staff that when they receive tips—even cash—the manager takes them, yet when she receives tips, she keeps them and does not distribute them according to policy.
The staff refers to her as “Grandma,” even employees who are her age or older. I asked one older staff member how that made her feel, and she shared that it made her very uncomfortable. She also stated that the manager treats the staff terribly.
That is a clear abuse of power and manipulation.
She caters to her “loyals” and to those she believes hold influence in this small town. I am done. This was my last visit.
To those who frequent this area, I encourage you to rethink your choices. While the food can be good when certain cooks are present, the management is disappointing—especially the way she treats people of her own race.
My husband and I are business owners. We don’t operate with favoritism or power plays. We are neutral people who simply enjoy supporting local businesses and good food.
I will be researching and reporting this to the appropriate channels.

Came in for dinner for New Year’s Eve. We were met with the best hospitality. Our food was served quickly and was so delicious! Emari was an excellent waitress and was truly so sweet! The Cook was excellent and everything was cooked to perfection! Would definitely recommend as a great place for good food and great service!

This is the highest review I have given on food from Franklin so far. I ordered their cheesesteak combo and let me say, from a PA person, no one has even touched a Philly cheesesteak down here on any level. Overall, the food given was good, but the portion small. It is served on sandwich bread, Swiss cheese, onions and green peppers with a side of fries. ?????? For over $13.00, I will not order this menu item again. If this is a rendition, I would rate the creation a 1 only because the girl making the food knew how to use that flat top and the directive provided by this restaurant for this menu item. The staff were engaging and friendly. The store was being cleaned. (Work on wiping down menus. :)) I would eat here again, I just will not order this item. 🙂

Looking for a local place for breakfast my husband and I stopped at the Huddle House on a recent road trip. We split a 2 egg combo breakfast with country fried steak. Each item on the plate was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. Our server, Ella, was courteous, friendly and very efficient. Thank you, Ella, and thank you to the cook for a wonderful meal and an enjoyable experience, too!

Disgusting! Food not cooked ( hash browns supposed to be crispy! cold and soggy) and place is filthy. Eggs tasted like old grease. Also, bathrooms have no toilet paper and there is no heat. Hand sanitizer was a friend for sure ( if i had seen the bathrooms before eating i would have walked out). Staff talking about not getting their taxes back. Took forever to place an order and there was only 3 other customers inside. Pretty much yelled at when we first walked in that we couldn’t sit at a table where no one was sitting. Paid almost $50 for 2 plates of food that was inedible, a coffee, and 2 cokes. Don’t eat here

The Huddle House in Franklin is greatly improved and this may be one of the best I have visited. Very fast service and an excellent staff. The place is spotless inside, looks new. This is a great place for breakfast and we will return often.

Consistently horrible service, tables stay dirty. Finding a place to sit is almost impossible. Your better off stopping at the gas station next door for decent food. Absolutely the worst huddle house I’ve ever been to. After reading the other reviews on this place it shows that the corporate and management for Huddle House apparently put little to no effort in correcting the issues for this location

The food was hot and fresh. The $5.99 combos were a great value. But the staff was the best part of the experience! Our waitress, Debbie, was the best! She was very attentive and so friendly. The cooks and others staff were also very nice! And this strawberry waffle dessert was delicious! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Stopped here on the conclusion of a roadtrip for a much-needed bite to eat. The got omlette, and it did not disappoint! Very fluffy, cheesy, and jam-packed with care. I tore that thing UP.

The hashbrowns were quite soggy from so much grease though, which is a shame since they’re one of my favorite sides. Them being soggy like that usually means someone added more oil on top while they were cooking… don’t ask how I know. But that killed it for me.

The peach tea was also quite the letdown. Sweeter than my mom on a Sunday when her grandkids are hungry. Couldn’t tell if it was the tea or the additive. But it was not pleasant.
