Good spot! Something a little different than your usual breakfast lunch restaurant. More a southern feel which I’m honestly not 100% familiar with. But the menu is pretty legit and have lots to choose familiar and something new to try. The portions are big and filling. Try that New Oleans dish. Shrimp, sausage potatoes with a certain sauce on top that gives it that right touch. The Huckleberry drink is bomb, their iced coffees are on point. Jus a really cool place. Unique at its own accord. Stop in n try it out.

Cute comfort food joint with some Cajun flair! Went for brunch on a Sunday morning around 11am, and there was about a 10 minute wait for a party of 3. Food was ready fairly quickly, though.

Ordered stuffed french toast and a Belgian waffle, both with huckleberry topping. They were excellent, though fair warning, the topping is not warmed up before going on. Any eggs/meats/other sides need to ve ordered separately, a la carte, unless otherwise specified.

2025-1108: We had a fantastic first experience at this restaurant. The food was delicious, and the generous portion sizes were a pleasant surprise. The service was excellent, with a very attentive and friendly staff. The only observation was that the team seemed to be moving at a very fast pace, giving the dining room a slightly rushed, chaotic energy, though no issues occurred.

We were super impressed. We have wanted ro try this spot for years and finally did. So happy about that decision. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. We found the menu expansive and offered something for us both. We look forward to going again to try some more yumminess. We had the bananas foster French toast with eggs and fried green tomatoes as well as the chicken fried steak wirh over easy eggs We recommend you checking them out.

First time at Huckleberry’s and we loved it. My wife and I had the stacked chicken & waffles—crispy chicken, fluffy waffles, and the perfect sweet-and-savory combo. We also tried the beignets, and they were delicious. Great food and a great first experience. We’ll definitely be back.

We went during their very busy lunch/brunch time on a Sunday. Service was friendly but rushed. We had to request silverware after our food arrived and we had nothing to eat it with. They provided forks but had to hunt down knives. Food was very good, but the potatoes with onions and peppers were undercooked (still mostly raw) likely due to the rush. I would def go again buy avoid the busy weekend lunch rush.

This was my fourth time coming here and each time wasn’t delightful but this time was the absolute worst. I really had high hopes for this place and kept giving it a try as my 1st breakfast there was pretty decent but the prices have always been pretty expensive as well. But today I decided to try the fish and chips and my daughter got the crepes. I barely got any fish for $17 and the crepes were pretty terrible as well and those were $15, and to top off we had the most expensive lemonade ever at $6.50 and it only had a glob of strawberry jam on it! I’ll admit the fish breading was flavorful but it had too much breading and not enough actual catfish to thoroughly enjoy. The coleslaw was an absolute no go, no flavor, no spice, and the tartar sauce was so bad it made me mad lol. BOTH were made with probably the cheapest mayo you ever tasted. The fries were pretty decent but dude, they’re only fries! The crepes had absolutely zero flavor…I mean a little sugar in the batter would have helped a lot here but they tasted like cardboard to be honest and had no crisp or any time really spent on the grill to make them flavorful. And I swear they used canned peaches on top! The filling was pretty non-existent but even the little bit that was there was not at all flavorful or even sweet! As you can tell from the photos you just don’t get a lot of food for a very expensive meal! But when that food is not even flavorful come on man…I’ve tried guys but I’m done with this place!

I typically don’t give reviews whether good or bad. I understand there are good days and bad days. There are many factors that could alter service and quality and reviews are usually driven by emotion.

Rather than a review is more of an observation and concern. The job of a manager is to ensure guest’s satisfaction, period. Besides the administrative responsibilities, guests are the ultimately the most important part of the job. I must say, I was very upset on how your GM handled my situation. I sent back a dish because it tasted oddly fishy, more than it should have, and rather than inquiring more about the taste, or a simply apologize for the inconvenience, he became combative and argumentative. He picked up the menu off the table and didn’t even offer anything else. My sever was by far more apologetic and embarrassed for the manager’s demeanor than he was.

Kudos to our server who was very polite and respectful. The manager came back right before he bill arrived and attempted to apologize for is initial approach, but he ended up making it worse by telling me how long he has been doing this and insisted on nothing being wrong with the dish. I simply told him I would pay for the meal and told him everything was good. I know all he wanted was to defend his product and I respect that, but perhaps he needs a bit more finesse when dealing with guests. I know he didn’t mean to come across in such a way, but these types of attitudes damage your reputation.

Absolutely love Huckleberry’s! My Husband & I visited one in Sacramento so we were thrilled to get one here in Escondido! So delicious and it never disappoints! You must try the Monte Christo, French Toast, Waffles, & of course the Huckleberry sauce! Oh! The blueberry lemonade is so delicious!

I ordered food to go. 3 scrambled eggs and chicken sausage. They told me it would take 5 minutes. After 20min of waiting, I received the food. Left to my next destination and opened up the eggs to find overcooked, dry no flavor eggs. I even found pieces of something else in them… No condiments or S/P was provided nor offered. The chicken sausage is delicious. The people are so wonderful and kind.
Positives: Easy to order, good price, cute restaurant.
Very disappointed in the eggs. They’re seriously so simple to make – HOW does this happen? Don’t want to tear the restaurant down with my review so giving three stars, but very upset.
