The pastries are delicious here! They’re just the right size for a small breakfast paired with their coffee, or for a sweet treat in the middle of the day. I got the pumpkin pie slice and a kouign amann tart. The pie crust was super crispy on the edges and had great pumpkin flavor without being overly sweet. The whipped cream on top was a bonus and finished off the pie so well. Kouign amann was sticky and sweet, with a nice peachy surprise in the middle. All the fruit pastries I’ve tried here are really great.

This is a MUST visit. Pastries were just perfect, sweet but not too much, fresh and creamy. Try the fruit tart if you can.

The breakfast was also amazing. We enjoyed every bite. We ordered the breakfast burrito and the bagel.

The atmosphere is great, busy but not annoying and there is parking everywhere

Yes it’s a cute place. Good location. But it’s way overpriced for the quality of offering. If you’re good with that, then you are aligned with these food bloggers who keep highly reviewing this place. We had the burrito – what a rip off for $20! Big and bland was about the only way to describe it. The huevos rancheros was fine, but again, could have used being $4-$5 cheaper. I ate here about 3 years ago and didn’t care for it but thought it warranted another try. Maybe it’s fine for a coffee and a pastry but I’d leave it there.

The food was well made and from quality sources, but just lacked on flavor.

The cornbread and the bacon was super good, but I wish my chicken sandwich had some spice to it.

The pancake was on the sweet side.

The pricing just felt too high. Sticking with the baked goods probably would have been better.

Was excited to try this spot given the mantra for Huckleberry is all about environmentally-responsible sourcing ie grabbing all the ingredients from the Santa Monica Farmers’ Market and other regional farmers.. and making sure they’re organic

Went in for Saturday brunch and it was ‘ok.’ Was looking forward to the pancakes which were underwhelming. Fresh cream / whipped cream is extra.. which means you have to line up again just to get it, if you didn’t order it when getting the pancakes (how is anybody supposed to know this? Lol)

Service is ok. The wait staff appear slammed.. and patrons need to order up at the counter.. so unclear what exactly we’re tipping for..

That said, the chocolate chip WAS good.. the breakfast burrito was also just ‘ok’

Unlikely I’ll be back but cool concept!

Firstly I want to start off by saying the staff were all lovely. Everyone was attentive, friendly, and helpful from ordering to the bussing of the table, etc. Secondly, I have to say that I used to come here often for breakfast/lunch and always really enjoyed the food. It’s been quite a while since I’ve eaten here but I stopped by today for lunch and a treat. I ordered the chopped salad and unfortunately it was super soaked in dressing to the point where the was a pool of orange tinged liquid at the bottom of the bowl. Not sure what happened here but it almost seemed like the bottle of peppers was just haphazardly poured into the salad with its liquid. Strange stuff and I was starving so I ate the top portion and wasn’t in the mood to have an honest convo with the staff about it, so that’s on me. I could live with that without complaining, but we also ordered pumpkin pie bc ’tis the season, and the pie was way off, as if whoever made the filling read the recipe incorrectly and added way too much of a spice I can’t even identify. 3 hours later and I still have the lingering taste of the rancid spice. My dining partner and I both agreed the flavor was legit sickening. Anyhow, I don’t complain about food often but it was such a bummer to come back to a beloved place only to have everything other than the service fall way below expectations. Disappointingly, I don’t see myself returning.

I ate lunch at Huckleberry today. The turkey sandwich with cabbage and bacon was awful. The turkey was dry and the sandwich tasted like cardboard. I also got two overnight oatmeal containers to go. They contained six times the amount of sugar that a person would want. And the taste was terrible. My bill was over $60.… For food that was just inedible.

Visiting Santa Monica and I was recommended Huckleberry for breakfast. It was fantastic. Food was filling and delicious, the coffee was also tasty, and the staff was very friendly and helpful for a new customer like myself. Plenty of seating both indoor and outdoor.

We experienced Huckleberry Bakery & Cafe for the first time the day after Christmas. We expected a holiday slow down but we’re greeted with spots in the parking lot behind the building, and fast and friendly customer service inside. We ordered many of the seasonal pastries as well as plated breakfast. We got the huckleberry breakfast and brisket hash. Both were delightful. I was impressed at how they got the edges of baked items caramelized and crispy, yet the centers were still sort gooey and decadent the ginger holiday items were flavorful with holiday spice and delicately sweet. The hash brown potatoes were shredded thinly so that the edges were lacey and crispy without assaulting the gums. They were artfully seasoned. He buttermilk biscuit was a delight. I was a little surprised the butter for the biscuit was “cut” with something…most likely margarine to make it more spreadable. The house made jam had more of the texture of a Berry compote which I enjoyed as it wasn’t inundated with overwhelming sweetness. The orange juice was fresh squeezed, with none of the bitter aftertaste that suggests overworking the orange. It was carefully strained to be pulp free…I kind of missed the pulp. I’m not sure if it’s an option to leave it in?
We will absolutely be eating here again. It’s our goal to try all of the restaurants in the Rustic Canyon Family of restaurants. They do not disappoint.

This was *seriously* the best hash I’ve had in my life. So flavorful, so good! The sweet yams go perfectly with the delicious, tender brisket. And I actually hate arugula but it was basked in this amazing lemon vinaigrette that somehow went so perfectly with the dish. The pancakes were also amazing – probably worth it to spring for the extra couple bucks for toppings though 🙂 My only complaint is that it’s so damn loud in there – if you’re trying to catch up with someone, this probably isn’t the best place. And since this was our first time it wasn’t immediately obvious if we were supposed to wait for a host or just get in line (no signage that I can recall anyway). But that being said, someone came up to us pretty quickly and told us what to do (get in line and they’ll assign a table to you). Definitely will go again though!
