We ordered delivery. 2 combos with egg drop soup. Paid in full for our order, plus delivery fee & tip. They did not include both soups, which was very disappointing as it is my favorite part. I called and told them the situation and the young lady, whose name is Krystal (or however it’s spelled) told me I have two options:
1. Come in and get it myself or
2. Get a credit toward our next purchase.
I told Crystal I’d be willing to come get it and asked if they could do anything for us for the inconvenience, such as refunding the delivery fee. Crystal said she can’t refund the delivery fee because it goes toward the delivery drivers gas, and told us sorry there’s nothing she can do for us, but she expects us to come to them to pick up the order we paid delivery for??? I then asked if we could get a discount toward our next purchase or a couple of free coca colas for the inconvenience of having to drive there & she groaned and said “sure I’ll throw in some egg rolls” clearly annoyed by us asking. I said no, we don’t want egg rolls (actually said no egg rolls on our combo order, too) and asked to speak with the manager to which she quickly replied that she is the manager.
Hope it was worth losing us as customers.
The above dishes, except for the Mongolian beef, were fried in very lightly coated batter and fried to absolute perfection! So there wasn’t a thick layer of dough masking a thin sliver of meat (some restaurants use this trick to stretch their meat). The Mongolian beef was cooked just right to juicy perfection; seasoned to absolute perfection with just the right amount of sauce, onions and black pepper. Even the red dipping sauce they serve you with fried wonton strips before your meal comes was delicious. Instead of your sugary red-dye sauce, this had a pleasant yet slight hint of fresh ginger.
I highly recommend this Chinese restaurant!
I rolled the dice on their combination egg foo yung. It is my new favorite meal, try it!
The food at Huang Garden is some of the best Chinese food I’ve had in my entire life. Yes, the atmosphere is no great shakes; however, I go to a restaurant and return because of the food, not the atmosphere. And Huang Garden delivers on the food and customer service. Although the atmosphere is not that of a “fancy” restaurant, the restaurant itself and the bathrooms were clean.
We ordered the following: steamed dumpling appetizer, Twice Cooked Pork, Cashew Chicken, and Kun Pao Chicken.
The meat inside the steamed dumpling was flavorful and cooked perfectly as the was tender.
The pork and cabbage in the Twice Cooked Pork dish were both spiced and cooked to perfection as the cabbage was cooked, yet still crunchy, and the pork was tender. The sauce that these two items were cooked in was just the right amount of spicy as it did not overpower the taste which was excellent.
The same could be said for the Cashew Chicken and the Kun Pao Chicken. The chicken and vegetables in each dish were spiced wonderfully, and the chicken was cooked thoroughly, yet it was still tender and the sauces for each dish were superb.
The vegetables and meats for all of the dishes tasted fresh and the portions for each of the three entrees was more than plentiful…we’ve been eating leftovers twice a day for two days now.
Our server was friendly, professional, and quick to assist us with ALL of our requests.
If you do decide to try this restaurant I HIGHLY recommend eating at the restaurant as opposed to ordering to-go or take-out; however, be patient as it may take a little time to get your meal because everything is made fresh and not reheated or premade.
I look forward to trying their Thai and Vietnamese dishes!
