Great place for hu tieu/mi kho with a cup of vietnamese iced coffee. Friendly and very hospitable staff. One of if not the best place for mi kho. I drove all the way from L.A for this.

This place is often a go to on the weekends for me. You can never go wrong with egg noodles. It’s the perfect amount. All the flavor profiles are there. It can get busy and there is sometimes a wait but not too bad. There is indoor and outdoor seating. There is also something nostalgic about a family owned restaurant that is comforting.

Place was packed during Saturday lunch and the food speaks for itself. Recommend by a friend because they know I love dry hu thieu. The chilli is actually spicy. I packed my bowl with the pickled garlic and burping up garlic breath the rest of the day but worth it!

No frills typical Vietnamese restaurant with simple decor and mom and pops service model. Overall good value. Not the best I had, average, but good value with cash payment and 3% charge with card. #15 seafood for me with mix noodle. Broth was a bit overpowered by the egg noodle. Pork fat was not as crispy but again still enjoy the bowl. My favorite in the US so far is Phanh Ky Hu Tieu Mi My Tho in Houston on Bellaire Blvd.

Popular Vietnamese/Chinese noodle restaurant. We picked the chewy glass noodles/yellow noodles Special but you also have the choice of Beef Meatballs, Seafood and Char Siu. The noodles were great and chewy. The broth was not flavorful as expected but they had garlic n pickled peppers so that was alright. They also didn’t provide a lot of greens if you care about that in your noodles. Overall a good local spot for noodles if you don’t want to get to Westminster. It can get crowded during weekends n it’s not opened Tues.

The food was good, though slightly too sweet for my preference. Prices were reasonable, and service was quick. Theres also a credit card charge if you’re not paying with cash.

Great food.
Fun staff.
Small space.
Small parking lot.
Portions are on the smaller size, wish they offered bigger portions.
I get the dry chewy noodle.
I wouldn’t recommend big parties on holiday/weekend.

Excellent hu tiu in OC area. The price is very affordable $10 for each bowl. The flavor is rich and yummy, service is very nice. The restaurant is small but cozy and clean. Must try their Corn Milk (very good). Definitely will come back

(Via Eat the World Los Angeles) – If you have ever walked around the streets of Ho Chi Minh City, there is a good chance that you sat down at a stall offering hủ tiếu nam vang. Throngs of people sit on colorful plastic stools under sidewalk trees to enjoy this ultra-economical bowl of noodles on a daily basis. The stalls and carts they order from display the ingredients of the bowl for all to see, while steaming cauldrons of broth are ready to be ladled. Like those vendors, there is only one dish featured here at Hủ Tiếu Đệ Nhất, with various options for each bowl.
