We got take out meals and all the food was hot and delicious, and ready at the promised time. My lasagna portion was generous, and I rated it 8/10. The hubs got the steak & eggs and rated it 8/10 as well. My daughter got the biscuits and gravy and rated them 9/10. We’ll be back next time we are in town.

Howe Restaurant was recommend by a local in Shipshewana – the pizza was AMAZING – I had asparagus on it! Asparagus??? As I was walking out, I spotted their desert cooler – the blueberry pie and carrot cake were soooo good! Friendly owner and staff. You need to check this place out!!

Today because I was ill, my dear husband ordered 2 dinners for us to be delivered. We have had both of these dinners at the restaurant numerous times, but today we got a much less version of them. He ordered me the Turkey dinner with mashed potatoes, gravy and dressing. We always order extra gravy to bring home with our leftover, so he did that with my dinner and his Roasted Pork dinner too. The lady taking his oder charged him extra for the gravy and he said fine. The order arrived over an hour and half later, later than usually but we considered they may have been extra busy. He opened the packages to find no dressing in either dinner, a small cup of maybe 4 ounces of gravy (we usually get about 8-12 oz.) We ALWAYS Tip our driver 20% on top of our entire bill. We realize the orders already have a delivery fee but we do extra. Today, our skimpy dinners cost my husband $48.00!!! When he called back the girl on the phone, said, “no that’s what you ordered”. No it wasn’t, I heard him when he called it in, secondly your menu states we got charged for the dinner. Do very disappointed.

Ordered a footlong turkey and ham sub sandwich with Swiss cheese. Made no adjustments to how it was described on the menu–besides specifying the type of cheese. Despite the menu indicating it was served with veggies, my sandwich came out as depicted in the photo with American cheese. It was also toasted—which was NOT noted on the menu. Tasted terrible. The restaurant itself was filthy as well.

The owner, Angelo, was amazing! He gave me free goodies and I greatly appreciated the much needed happiness I felt! Thank you, Howe Restaurant, I will recommend you to everyone I know!

When I visited this restaurant March 5/6 of 2025, this place was phenomenal. The food was to die for, the staff were super friendly and willing to help ouy any way they could. The place was fairly clean and still solid as of when I was last here. Sadly it will be the only time I get to visit here at all.

Kind of a throwback type of place. Very small town type of atmosphere. The fish dinner was recommended to me. It was fine, but the soup was excellent. The next time I visit, I would like to try something else.
