Although it’s labeled as a Chinese restaurant offering Mandarin, Szechuan, and Cantonese cuisine, we specifically came for Korean-Chinese dishes like Jajangmyeon and Jjamppong — and it absolutely delivered.
First of all, the noodles are homemade, and you can really taste the difference. The texture was fresh and perfectly cooked. The portions are very generous.
I ordered the Jajangmyeon and also tried the Jjamppong. The Jjamppong broth had great depth — rich, spicy, and full-bodied. It had a generous variety of seafood with large pieces, and it wasn’t watery or greasy. There wasn’t oil floating on top, just a well-balanced, flavorful soup.
The Jajangmyeon was excellent as well. The sauce was balanced and not overpowering. If I had to suggest one small improvement, it could have had slightly more pork, as the vegetables and onions were a bit more prominent. Still, in terms of flavor, it’s a solid 5 out of 5.
Another highlight was the complimentary tea service. Along with the meal, they bring a teapot (around a liter) of hot tea for the table, which is a very nice touch. They also include two fortune cookies and two large oat-style cookies as a courtesy — small details that elevate the experience.
The water glasses were clean, and the water was fresh with ice — which we definitely appreciated.
The service was wonderful. I asked for an apron (since I tend to spill noodles), and they kindly brought one right away. We also ordered sesame balls to go, and the staff member who helped us was very kind and attentive.
The atmosphere is calm and quiet, making it easy to have a relaxed conversation. It’s located on a corner with booths that have street views, and the overall ambiance feels peaceful and pleasant.
Definitely a place I would return to.

Went for after-dinner snack on a weekend. It was busy but not crowded. I ordered the eggroll and potstickers. The eggroll has good size and texture, ok flavor, isn’t greasy. The potstickers are old-school Chinese restaurant, with thick, chewy wrapping and flavorful stuffing. The dipping sauce was also ok. Paid with a card. I’ll return to try other things.

Came here from a TikTok recommendation and I wanted to like it so much but it was just OK to me. The service is really amazing though the food came out quickly, and the woman serving us was really kind.

Good selections of Korean style chinese dishes. Full flavors and fresh ingredients. Excellent JJAJANGMYEON (black bean noodles seen in K-dramas). Bit old interior. Prom attentive professional services!. Rare gem in the city. Love to go back!!!!

For lunch I visited House of Wah Sun. What attracted me most was their lunch deal (which for the price is an incredible value). As part of the deal I ordered the Mongolian Beef with Egg Drop Soup and an Egg Roll. All of which was fairly good and left me plenty full. In an addition to that the services was very quick and attentive!

We have been coming here since their original location on Lincoln Avenue. This place has the absolute best Mongolian beef in Chicago. You don’t need to go all the way to Chinatown for great Chinese food. This is the spot.

Excellent Korean Chinese food. I used to go to Peking mandarin but this is my new favorite. Deeeeeep flavor in the Samseon jjambong and very legitimate large pieces of seafood (fresh too!). The samseon jjajangmyun was also excellent. Very good noodles. Their pork tangsuyuk was just the way I like it…big pieces of meat with light flour. The only thing was that the tangsuyuk had a little bit of pig smell? The beef tangsuyuk also has the same smell. Maybe it came from the oil since they probably use the same oil for frying everything.
Too notch though!
And the Korean owner was very nice. She even separated the bowl of noodle without us asking for it!!!

Wanted to come here since they opened and finally had the opportunity. Since chicken and broccoli is so hit or miss here in Chicago, I opted for the “safer” general tso’s chicken, which lacked spice and was actually really sweet. The sauce was just drizzled over the chicken, leaving much of it dry and hard, not at all the meal I had hoped for.
The primary reason I wanted to try out this restaurant was for the egg rolls, but that too was filled with this disappointing paste, instead of the usual egg roll filling I was looking forward to.
Glad I finally got to try it, now I can cross this place off my list.

Service was great. The food was tasty and seasoned so good, we.didn’t need to add nothing. The waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu, he made suggestions after asking what we liked.
I see why the Mongolian beef is popular and the combination rice is a menu highlight.
General Tso chicken and veggie egg roll were decent. Overall our dinner experience was enjoyable.

First off I used to love this place when it was located on Lincoln! We went here on Irving Park and we were so disappointed. The food was tasteless! The rice was just dark and no flavor! The Szechuan tofu again was tasteless! The tofu they use is way too soft. The sauce had no flavor and it wasn’t even all that spicy. One thing I will say is the vegetables were fresh. The crab Rangoon was overly fried. We felt so uncomfortable because the waitress kept coming to our table every 3 minutes refilling our water. We felt very rushed. They were closing at 2:30 and we got there at 1:50 we had plenty of time to eat in peace, but that definitely didn’t happen. The We will not be going back.
