House of Hunan is a family run restaurant serving traditional Chinese dishes. This is not a fancy place but it offers good food in a nice and clean setting. Chicken dumplings with Szechuan sauce and Onion Pancakes are savory starters. We also tried soup, different fried rice and noodles along with Basil Chicken and they were excellent. Thai milk tea was disappointing though. The service is super efficient and helpful although it will lack basic courtesy since the owner is not a native English speaker. The restaurant always seems empty since it looks like most of the people order online. There is plenty of street parking available nearby. Park on the side of South Beach Marina Apartments leasing office side since the street parking is free over there. Overall this is a decent place to dine when you just need to fill up your tummy and don’t care about great dinning experience.

Worst Chinese restaurant I’ve ever been to. Don’t come unless you want unauthentic Chinese food. “Hot boiled beef” (水煮牛肉)is supposed to be spicy and covered with hot chilli oil and Sichuan pepper powder (花椒面). Their version has none and is tasteless. The name House of Hunan is utterly misleading – their food has nothing to do with Hunan.

Tasty and hits the spot on a cool night. Fairly quick and friendly service. There were a lot of to go orders picked up while we waited. The dishes came out sizzling hot and large portions. 3 entrees were more than plenty for 3 hungry individuals to share. We finished every bite! Happy to have an above average Chinese restaurant nearby and looking forward to going back.

Unassuming neighborhood Chinese food staple. It’s got all the basic Chinese comfort foods you’ll need, and the quality and portions are good enough to hit the spot and still have some left overs. I love getting their combos when I’m famished.
